Qadir had a relationship with a girl who was a teacher at the University in Kurdistan, he promised to engage and marry her and even slept with her (a girl in Kurdistan mostly thinks twice before she sleeps with someone or even begins a relationship, so he made her trust him very well I asume)..the girl was with him for quite a while and when she asked him "so when you're going to ask me to marry you??" Hi, I want to read Dr. Kemal’s two articles that are the basis for the sentence, which by the way is outrageous and unacceptable. I am northern Kurd and can’t read sorani. Do the articles exist in English or latin Kurmanji? I’d appriciate any help with this regard. Thanks.

I doubt strongly that an Official would have made a such statement. I never heard KRG people talked like that.

I know the minister personally....
I personally think he is a bit of a dickhead....
BUT...
I was at University with him in London.... and he knows how to operate smoothly... he would not say that... even if he thought it....

Legal Case Regarding Mr. Kamal Sayid Qadir

There has been incorrect information circulating regarding the legal case of Mr. Kamal Sayid Qadir. Mr. Qadir was arrested according to law and an established court system. Mr. Qadir's case is now before the Court of Cassation (supreme court).

Mr. Kamal Sayid Qadir has been charged in accordance with law no. 21, article 1, enacted by the Kurdistan National Assembly (KNA) in 2003 pertaining to defamation of public institutions.

Mr. Qadir has full access to a lawyer and his rights are assured. In addition to his lawyer he has also been visited by family members, colleagues, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and by officials from the Austrian Embassy in Iraq.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) affirms that the principles of human rights and freedom of expression continue to be respected, promoted, and assured for all persons throughout the Kurdistan Region.

Don't know. But it was the real sentence. Probably because in his mails he spoke always about secret services and spies. A commentator in Roj bash blog has talked about it too, he has heard the case from the KRG in Norway. But seriously what I've heard about the guy does not make me believe that he is a real agent. But he has insulted many ppl, even dead Barzani victims of Saddam and many complaints were from families, not Masud Barzani. Moreover, I've red in a French forum that he has published pornogaphic pictures of the Kurdish president, being fucked by Saddam. Not very clever to do a such thing in Kurdistan, did he believe to be in Austria ?

My conviction is that he tries to be a victim, and while PUK did not arrest him, he successed to be caught by KDP. But it is a mistake, now everybody talk about him as if he were a heroic intellectual, a Kurdish Voltaire !

The sentence should have been only concerning insults, so no more than 3 years. 30 years is too much.

But perphaps we'll learn more about that "spying accusations".

Brother, I'll tell you why he told that to Persians in Far(t)si - because he wants people to think BAD about Kurds...

Because he wants to make people think Kurds are good for nothing... Because he wants to make people think that we are worthless...

Dr Kemal or anybodoy else in a real democracy have the right to insult whoever they want including any dead person and of course they will be judged and sentenced accordingly. The punishment for insulting Barzani should not be 30 years in prison not even 30 seconds. The worst charge should be a financial charge.

It's mere ignorance of Barzani worshippers to justify the unjust ruling of the kurdish court by accusing Dr Kemal of sexual infidality or insanity. For those familiar with dictatorship and the not-so-complicated psychological methods of the ruling parties, it's a joke.

In fact this is a great test for the future of Kurdistan. What Dr. Kemal is doing is to break a taboo in Kurdistan and to break a personality cult that is built around Barzani and his family and tribe. This is the key to any progress in Kurdistan and our future will testify this. Those who, following their tribal mentality, don't tolerate criticism and destroy any critic upright, will soon see a new dictatorship forming in Kurdistan.

It depends on country. You have not the right to insul or to make wrong accusation about someone like that, even in Western democracies, with various tolerance, depending on countries.

There is a right to joke, caricature, satirism of course. For example if someine make a picture where Barzani is fucked by Saddam, it is a caricature, no one could think that it was really happened, but see it as a humorist's critic. If someone write that Masud had been paid by Saddam (wthout proving) it is calomny and in general, it is punished.

But of course 30 years are too much, it is not the real punishment for insults in Kurdistan, so they have charged him of "spying and plot" .

The best and cleverest thing for Barzani is to release him, now this man is presented like a Kurdish Voltaire ! So it was stupid from KRG... if someone want to be a martyr, the harmest thing to do for him is to ignore him.
