Tons of news on this link (kurdish independant website nasname) about Yilmaz's murder. Too bad it's all in turkish, and I can't afford to spend 3 hours with my dictionnary.

But what I understood is more than interesting, apparently Apo offered his brother to come back to the PKK, and Karayilan was reaaally pissed off because he wants the power for himself.

Plus one woman I met in Brussels as "representative of Kongra Gel in Europe" 2 years ago is now on the death list. There is no job security in this part![/quote]

Assassination attempts

The terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party's (PKK) alleged killing of Kani Yilmaz, who was their representative in Europe for years, brought executions within the PKK into the spotlight, reported daily Zaman. Sehabettin Ozaslaner, former Van mayor and deputy leader of the defunct People's Democracy Party (HADEP), told Zaman, "Two years ago the PKK asked me for $550,000, but I didn't pay and they tried to assassinate me. They sent a 200-person assassination team to Turkey four years ago. They especially target people who are well liked in the region."

But of course DEHAP is th continuation of HADEP, no difference. Well they just try to kill former mayor of Van (by the way DEHAP lost VAN to AKP because this Ozaslaner guy was forbidden by PKK to run for the election) but that's not important
