But, REALY... DID he use it? Or is it just the Kurdish media which has "mis-quoted" him?

Because you know what this means, right? It means; Now if you post this at a forum where Turks are defending their ass, saying "Kurds are our brothers - and we call them Kurd" - they will be ridiculed by non-Turks for LYING... Because their PRIME MINISTER has just officially and publically called KURDS: MOUNTAIN TURKS!!!

THAT is shocking... I NEVER thought they would say that after they started accession talks with the EU!!!

This article is from the Washington Post:

http://washingtontimes.com/world/200604 ... -7436r.htm

Addressing economic problems and marginalization in some predominantly Kurdish areas, Mr. Erdogan has promised a series of reforms that would reduce support for PKK militants roaming the mostly barren, wind-swept mountains.

"While they [the PKK] try to capitalize on hatred, we will build more roads, more hospitals, more schools and places of work for the mountain Turks. We will bring more freedom, more democracy, more welfare, more rights and justice."

That shitty Erdogan is certainly the one to talk about hatred, isn't he? Dirty flatland Turk.

More democracy? You can't bring MORE of something until some of whatever it is already exists. Since NO democracy exists in Turkey or that part of Kurdistan that has been totally misruled by Turkey for 83 years, then it is IMPOSSIBLE to bring MORE democracy.

Ditto with "rights" and "justice." They do NOT EXIST in Turkey, especially for Kurds. We have Erdogan's own statement on that, when he told security forces it was perfectly all right to target Kurdish women and children.

More welfare? Oh, brilliant! This means the fascist Turkish state has NO intention of bringing any kind of economic structure to Kurdistan at all. They are going to perpetuate their historic abuse and exploitation of Kurdistan and her people and just give them "welfare." GREAT solution, Adolf Erdogan.

I don't know why this is such a shock to anyone. We all know how Turks think about Kurds.

Erdogan is even the first Turkish PM after Turgut Ozal to state openly that there is a Kurdish question (in his speech in Diyarnbakir last year). Then, either he makes a backward steps and it is a very bad signal in policy, or it is a wrong quotation of the journalist. I hope the last is the true one.
