Defining Kurdistan!

PostAuthor: Diri » Thu May 12, 2005 3:22 pm

Hey - I have untill now seen 100 of different variations of the map claimed Kurdistan and wonder if people ever get upset like myself when seeing a bad map... When Kurdistan is made smaller then it is...

So I wanted to start by naming some Kurdish towns and I will expect you to name the rest of them - We must off course take in consideration a cities history, population and motives behind the claim...

Start you sentence like this and make claim... and if people dissagree we will have some fun doing "pro and cons"!

We all agree that Kirkuk is Kurdistan...?
We all agree that Hamadan is Kurdistan...?
We all agree that Siwas is Kurdistan...?
We all agree that Iskenderun is Kurdistan...?

AGREE??? Please continue the line =)

We all agree Mosul IS Kurdish!!!
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Kassem - What about the historical importance some places have for the Kurdish nation? What will teachers say to pupils when teaching? "Hey - we didn't bother to get back our ancient lands because we were forcefully moved from there by the government..."

Doesn't sound logical to me - I mean - Why should we accept the oppressors will? If we do... then it won't be called oppression.. it will be called "what the president told us to do"... "And we did it"... You know???

Vladimir - I agree - but what about all the Arabs that have moved there since 1970's? Where do we put them? Do you think maybe we should splitt Mosul by the River Tigris??? Eastern part for Kurds and Western part for Arabs...OR???? Any better suggestions?

Move Kurdish people from Bagdad to Mosul and Arab area's all to MOSUL and transfer Kurdish to Arab houses and Arabs to Kurdish houses.

And if they don't agree, they can have a nice swim in the river Tigris..

(Ok.. Kurds are not Saddam)

Vladimir - I definetly agree more with what your saying... Why should Arabs NOT be sent back? I mean - If they do what Kassem says, then they might as well build the new houses for the ARABS IN BAGHDAD - or where ever in ARAB IRAQ they wanna live... I mean - Kurds have been a majority in Mosul, Kerkuk etc for centuries and millenias... Send them back.. so that Kurds can repatriate...

Yes I agree, but talk about land thieves and Arabs coming from you just does not sound right Anthea, do forget who helped and aided them in the first place.
