Berê Isawîtî, li ewropî, îs,'ev cejna roj bû. Kes bawer bûn ko roj mîrî bû û dîsa li dinyayê hatibû. Cejna Rojbûn bû...
Ji ber vê yekê, îsawî cejna roj bi cejna xwe xistin cih, û li 24/12 ew Rojabûn rojabûnî Isa dibû...
Before christianism, this night was the Feast of the Sun too. People believed that the Sun died and reborns.
For that reason Christians replaced this feast by their own feast, and 24th December the Sun Day became... Christmas.

le kitêbêkida (ahmad shalu), sebaret be şewi zistan xewînduma :
in a book (by ahmad shamlu) I read this about Winter Night:
aryayekan (kurdekan) le bakûrî deryay caspian bûn....lêneda 6 mang le sal hemîse şew bu ,we 6 mang le sall hemişe roj .
aryan (and kurds) were in the north of caspian sea , there 6 months of the year were always night and the other second six months were always day.
şewi zistan , şewy kotayê fesli şew bû , paş şewi zistan , fesli roj desti pê dekird .
boya lem şewe cêjnyan saz kird .
Night of winter ,was the last night of the "Night season" of the year, after the Winter night the Day Season of the year started.
thats why they celebrated this night
ewan bîryan dekird [fikirryan dekird] cihan du xuday heye .
1- ehura mezda , xuday başy ,xoşy ,nûr , germi
2- ehrîmen , xuday xirapy , naxoşy , tarîky ,serdi
they belived that world has two gods,
1- Ahura Mazda - the god of good, healthyness, light and warmness.
2- Ahriman - the god of bad , disease , darkness and coldness.
ewan deyan got, lem şewe ahûra mezda , legel ehriman şer dekat , we serdekewêt û detwani xor durust bika .
awan be xor deyan got "Mîtra"
they used to say , in this night Ahura Mazda [god of good forces] fights with Ahriman [god of bad forces] and Ahura Mazda defeats Ahriman , and he can create Sun .
they used to call sun "Mitra"
diway ewe aryayekan hatin bo êrani emro.. [koçyan kird]
bellam cijini zistanyan le bir nekrd.
after than Aryans came to todayîs Iran [imigrated]
but they didnt forget the celebration of winter night .
eger emro biçîta bakurî zemin , detwani bibînî , sewzî feslî roj dest pê dekat .
if today you go to north of the earh, you can see tomorrow the seasin of the day starts.

Zor Spas kak Dyaoko bo em peyame.
Nazanim eger hêshta eyken welê Daykim hemîshe eywet le Hewramane lem roje menalekan bo xoyan eçûn û shîrînî yan esend le hawsekan. Le Hewraman, gisht malekan çêshtyan durûst dekird û hemîshe wetyan ke bûnî çêshteke berz bê bo ewe ruhekan bizanin wa xanewadekeyan hêshta mawûn.
I don't know if they still do it but my mother always said in Hewraman on this day, the children would go from house to house and get candy from the neighbors. And all the houses in Hewraman would prepare food and share it with each other and they would say that the smell of the food should be strong so the souls of the dead could know that their families are alive and well.

Wekê Halloween !
Bi rastî, Indo-Aryanî bawer kirin ku 12 roj pistî 21/12, roj zur lawaz û zeyf bû, û dîw û canên mirîyan hatin û mirovatî tirsandin. Ji ber vê yekê, gel s,es,t û xwarîn dan wan, ji bo dîw û mirî nerm kirin

.
Û roja newrozê, gotin ku roj serkeft û dîsa xurt dibû.
It is like Halloween. Indo-Aryan people believed that 12 days after the 21th december, the sun was very weak and in danger, then devils and death souls came back on earth and frightened people, who apeased them with food and sweets.
In in Newroz, people were happy for the sun was victorious and strong.

Bele raste Piling can.
Her wekû "Halloween" mendalekan melafeyan kirde ber xoyan... welê lew zêmane ke noqel û çite nebû, hawsekan gwêz, tom, piste û êmîshyan pê e da. Dezanî bazê êjin ke em cejine çend hezar sal le zêman aryan qeyim tire? ...êjin wa em cejine le esil, cejnî Kurd Guttî bûwe.
Just like Halloween the children would put sheets over themselves... but in those times when there was no candy, the neighbors would give them walnuts, seeds and fruit. Did you know some say that this holiday is is older than the time of the aryan tribes? ...they say that the holiday was originally one of the Gutti Kurdish tribes.
