kak arya, mor in pashto i believe means mother. in kurdish mar means snake. it might have other meanings but my kurdish is not so good.

komek - help (also in persian)
sherr - poem or war/fight
pir - old (also in persian)
shet - crazy
mar - snake (also in persian)

it's funny how many words are shared in persian and kurdish

kak Arya
The word " Şer doesn't come from the Arabic word " شر ".
ِ" شر " means Evil

But interestingly, in old Armenian they use the term Maar/Maaraaj to mean Mede which is coincidence probably. Possibly the Maad -> Maar d->r transformation? In Mazandarani Iranic language Maar is used for Mother.

Kurds in Kirmashan use Şerr also but Jeng has kind of become a standard way of saying it.

Arya wrote:Very interesting.
In Tehrani Persian (Shir) andAfghani Persian Sherr = Lion

Could Lion be also transformed to Battle besides Lion in Kurdish? That is since Sherr is the king of battles.

In Persian, Shir also means source of water and also it means Milk. Like Shir-e-Aab(Aaw in Kurdish) means sink.

Like a lion, be a one man breaking army
Be a son of your own characteristics (that is do not boast about your father but be a son of your own characteristics).

Sheer means milk in Kurdish.

In Kurdish a lion is someone who is very strong.
