Translated into English by the writer of the Kurdish version: Shahin Bekir Sorekli (Chahin Baker/ Australia). The poem was first sung by Nizamettin Ariç. It was later sung by Aynûr and others without seeking permission or even writing the name of the writer.

- Oh my dear mother
Tell me how are you?
Kisses to my dad
Greet my sisters and brothers.

Awkward is the exile mother
Can’t forget my homeland suffering
My heart longs for returning
But I can’t mother, I can’t.

- My dear son please return
We are tired of waiting
Old I am now, your father aged
Bitter is the life without you
Please return my dear son
I am waiting for you!

- I beg you mother be patient
A day will come when there is no war
A day will come when the homeland is free
Happiness will take the place of darkness
A day will come!

Did really Aynor sang 'mother' 'دايێ' without permission? This is one of her greatest songs.

OOPS! I normally put the link on articles I post but seem to have forgotten this time - I will have to try and find it again :(

I assure you "It was later sung by Aynûr and others without seeking permission or even writing the name of the writer," was actually in the article.

People often use other people's work without permission - I have had 2 hits in the English music charts but was not credited for either X(

This is intellectual piracy. You can take them to the court to force them to pay you every penny they made and pay your cost.

Not always easy - my mother was also a poet - as a teenager she wrote a poem that became world famous - it happens all the while - the only way of protecting out work is to self-publish so nobody gets the hands on it before a copy is lodged in the British Library

I copyright all my work now but it does not have to be changed very much for people to claim it as their own X(
