PM Barzani Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire
Calls It a Step Toward Regional Stability

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, describing it as an important step toward easing tensions and restoring calm in the region

“We welcome the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, a crucial first step toward de-escalation in the region,” Prime Minister Barzani wrote on the social media platform X. “We hope this paves the way for long-term stability in the Middle East.”

The Prime Minister’s statement comes amid growing international calls for peace and humanitarian relief following months of conflict in Gaza.

On Thursday, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement marking the first phase of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire plan aimed at ending the two-year war in Gaza. This agreement was reached after indirect negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The agreement stipulates that Hamas will release the remaining Israeli hostages it holds in Gaza in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners detained by Israel. US President Donald Trump announced that the hostages are expected to be released as early as October 13.

The agreement outlines a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza to a designated line during the initial phase. Large fleets of trucks loaded with food and medical supplies are anticipated to enter Gaza to address the humanitarian crisis, which includes famine conditions in certain areas. The UN has prioritized increasing aid deliveries, aiming to dispatch hundreds of trucks daily.

The Gaza war started nearly 100 years ago when Israel first started slaughtering Palestinians and stealing their land. 2 years ago Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel when it broke free from imprisonment.

Over the next two years, Israel undertook extensive military operations in the Gaza Strip, intending to dismantle Hamas.

Palestinian factions categorically
reject any 'foreign trusteeship'

The Hamas movement, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement (PIJ), and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have jointly and categorically refused any foreign trusteeship, insisting that the future governance of the Gaza Strip, including its administrative structure and the fundamental operations of its institutions, is a matter to be decided solely by Palestinians

In cooperation with Egypt, the Palestinian Resistance factions announced that it is working to convene an urgent and comprehensive national meeting, which will serve as the next step following a ceasefire, with the goals of unifying the Palestinian position and rebuilding national institutions.

In a statement published on Friday, the factions asserted that this phase represents a critical opportunity to bolster social cohesion within the Gaza Strip, while also reiterating their call for unity and a shared sense of national responsibility in order to begin a unified political course that includes all Palestinian forces and factions.

The factions also signaled their readiness to welcome Arab and international participation, specifically in the critical areas of reconstruction, recovery, and development
The three factions reaffirmed their commitment to the Palestinian people's rights to their land, insisting on the continuation of resistance in all its forms until their fundamental rights are fully realized, primarily the removal of the occupation, the right to self-determination, and the establishment of a fully sovereign, independent state with al-Quds as its capital.

Ceasefire foils Israeli schemes of occupation

Regarding the ceasefire agreement, the joint statement confirmed that the Palestinian negotiating delegation was guided by the people's demand for an end to the war of annihilation and has, despite the occupation's persistent attempts at obstruction, now reached a deal to implement the first phase to this end.

The Palestinian factions emphasized that "the agreement we have reached represents a political and security failure for the occupation's schemes, shattering its objectives to impose displacement and uprooting," adding that the agreement has "partially succeeded in ending our people's suffering and in securing the release of hundreds of our heroic female and male prisoners from the occupation's jails."

The statement further highlighted that the ongoing negotiation process and the mechanism for implementing the agreement still require intense national vigilance and meticulous monitoring, while pledging to continue working responsibly with mediators to ensure the occupation is compelled to comply with terms that protect the people's rights and end their suffering.

The three factions noted that "Israel" had reneged on the release of a large number of female and male prisoners, including leaders of the Captive Movement, calling on the American side and international mediators to maintain pressure to ensure the occupation's full compliance with all the agreed-upon terms.

Palestinians in Gaza exemplify resilience

The factions stated that the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip stood in the face of the "most horrific Israeli crimes," exemplifying “legendary steadfastness and resilience”, describing how "the steadfastness of the Resistance fighters and all our people thwarted all displacement schemes and set an eternal lesson in resilience and defiance."

They added, in the joint statement, that the "majestic scenes" of the return of the displaced Palestinian people to Gaza City exemplify the will of a people who reject forced displacement and insist on returning.

The factions further emphasized that "for more than two years, the enemy has failed to break the steadfastness and will of the Resistance, despite all the weapons it possesses," pledging to the people and the families of the prisoners and detainees that "the cause of liberating them all will remain at the top of our national priorities," vowing to never abandon them.

The factions extended a salute of pride and honor to the support fronts in Yemen, Lebanon, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Iraq. They also expressed deep appreciation for the “tremendous efforts” made by the "brotherly mediators": Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, and all those who supported this process.

Moreover, they highly valued the unprecedented global solidarity movement that stood with the Palestinian people, noting that this confirms that the occupation is now isolated and besieged and asserting that this must increase and escalate.

The factions added, in their joint statement, that the solidarity of free peoples with Palestine and Gaza is a powerful message that the Palestinian people's cause is a global political and humanitarian cause.

Israeli aggression escalates
settlers attack farmers

Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian farmers on Saturday while they were harvesting olives in various areas of Nablus and Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. Such attacks have become near-daily this season, coinciding with an aggressive IOF campaign across the West Bank

WAFA News Agency reported that the settlers fired live ammunition and assaulted the farmers, attempting to prevent them from reaching their lands, under the protection of occupation forces, which continue to restrict the Palestinians’ movement during the olive season.

Illegal Israeli settlers have cut down more than 100 Palestinian olive trees in the villages of Al Mughayyir and Abu Falah near Ramallah in Palestine's occupied West Bank. Some trees were over 60 years of age
Israeli occupation forces raid al-Khalil

One Palestinian youth was injured by Israeli occupation forces at dawn on Saturday, and six others, including two women, were detained from various areas of the al-Khalil Governorate in the West Bank.

In detail, WAFA reported, citing local and security sources, that the youth was moderately injured in the thigh by live Israeli gunfire near his home in the village of Tabqa in the town of Dura, southwest of al-Khalil. The occupation forces prevented ambulances from reaching him, leaving him bleeding for approximately an hour.

Breaking | A Palestinian was shot by Israeli occupation forces in Dura, south of Hebron in the West Bank, and the Israeli forces prevent medical teams from reaching him
Eventually, the Palestinian Red Crescent crews managed to transport him to Dura Governmental Hospital for treatment.

IOF detain six Palestinians, including two women

Also in Dura, Israeli occupation forces detained Ahmad Muhammad Hamdan after raiding and ransacking his family's home.

Israeli occupation forces continued their raids in the al-Khalil Governorate, storming the town of Bani Na'im in the east and detaining Mustafa Issam Manasra, Hazem Abdullah Manasra, and Alaa Muhammad Gharib (a woman), after searching their homes, ransacking their contents, and stealing sums of money
They also detained Anis Abdul-Wadud Ghaith from the city of al-Khalil and Israa Khamayseh from the town of Taffuh, to the west, after raiding their homes and vandalizing their contents.

As part of their continued aggression, Israeli occupation forces set up several military checkpoints at the entrances to al-Khalil and its towns and camps, closing main and side roads with iron gates, concrete blocks, and earth mounds, impeding Palestinian movement.

Child assaulted, detained by IOF near Beit Lahm

The IOF detained a 17-year-old Palestinian boy on Saturday after assaulting him in the village of al-Dawha, west of Beit Lahm, according to local security sources.

The sources told WAFA that soldiers chased Ramez Ismail al-Maghribi, a resident of the nearby Dheisheh refugee camp, while he was riding his bicycle in the village. After catching him, they beat him severely before detaining him.

Israeli troops had earlier stormed several neighborhoods in the town and were seen patrolling throughout the area.

IOF kill 25-year-old Palestinian during raid on Jenin

Just yesterday, Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a 25-year-old Palestinian youth and injured a teenager on Friday night during a military raid on the city of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS reported that its medical crews transferred the body of the slain youth after he was shot in the abdomen and neck by live Israeli fire.

Local sources said that an Israeli military unit raided multiple neighborhoods in Jenin, opened fire on residents, and killed the Palestinian youth, whom the Ministry of Health later identified as Mohammad Adnan Salameh, aged 25.

During the same raid, a 15-year-old child sustained injuries from live bullet shrapnel in the lower extremities near the Cinema Roundabout. He was evacuated to the hospital by Red Crescent crews.

Israel refuses to release
two prominent Gaza doctors

Two prominent Palestinian doctors remain excluded from the Gaza ceasefire prisoner deal, raising alarms over Israel’s targeting of healthcare workers and civilian infrastructure

According to a Hamas official speaking to CNN, “The occupation refused to release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya,” a well-known pediatrician who served as the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

Dr. Abu Safiya was detained during an Israeli military raid on the hospital in December 2024 that shut down the last major hospital functioning in the northern part of the Strip.

Dr. Marwan al-Hams, director of Gaza’s field hospitals, was also excluded from the agreement, according to the official.
The two doctors, both vital figures in Gaza’s crumbling healthcare system, were reportedly detained while working to treat patients under horrific siege conditions. Their exclusion from the detainee/prisoner-captive release list has been met with widespread outrage from Palestinian political factions and medical advocacy groups.

Critics say the decision to withhold the release of medical personnel reflects a deliberate targeting of Gaza’s health sector, a tactic they describe as part of "Israel’s" broader assault on civilian infrastructure in the Strip.

Palestinian outrage over weaponization of medical staff

Palestinian officials have condemned the exclusion, accusing "Israel" of weaponizing healthcare workers and violating international humanitarian norms. Human rights groups warn that preventing the return of key medical staff undermines the humanitarian objectives of the ceasefire.

A Hamas spokesperson stated, “Refusing to release doctors who serve the people of Gaza shows the occupation’s disregard for human life and sabotages efforts toward peace.”

Analysts say the move not only deepens the healthcare crisis in Gaza but also further erodes trust in negotiations and future detainee/prisoner-captive exchange agreements.

The agreement reached last Wednesday includes the planned release of 48 Israeli captives held in Gaza, of whom 20 are believed to be alive. In return, Israel is obligated to release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Palestinians detained from Gaza since October 7, 2023.

Humanitarian concerns undermine peace prospects

Observers warn that excluding medical professionals from release undermines the humanitarian framework of the deal and reflects a political calculus that prioritizes retribution over reconciliation.

Rights organizations have reiterated calls for the unconditional release of detained medical workers, highlighting the collapse of healthcare services across Gaza due to military attacks, siege conditions, and a lack of essential staff
As the ceasefire unfolds, the exclusion of these Palestinian doctors continues to raise alarm about the sincerity of peace efforts and the long-term implications for Gaza’s health system and broader civilian infrastructure.

Israel used fake 3D tunnel footage
to justify Gaza genocide: LaSexta

An investigation reveals that the Israeli military used fake 3D animations to falsely show Hamas tunnels in Gaza, as part of a disinformation campaign to justify the genocide

A journalistic investigation by LaSexta has revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and the Israeli occupation army used fabricated 3D simulations to support claims about Hamas tunnel networks in Gaza. These digital models were presented as real evidence during official briefings aimed at justifying the genocide in the Gaza Strip
The investigative team found that identical computer-generated animations were repurposed multiple times to depict alleged underground infrastructure beneath civilian locations, including hospitals and schools.

The report further highlights that some visuals were not produced by Israeli intelligence, as implied, but were instead sourced online. One such model, created by a Scottish museum to illustrate a ship repair shop, was reused by the Israeli army and portrayed as an alleged Hamas tunnel system
While Israeli military spokespersons later admitted that the visuals were merely illustrative, they were already widely disseminated to reinforce the narrative that Hamas uses civilian infrastructure as shields.

"This is just an illustration," one spokesperson stated, adding, "We are not going to share the actual images we have in our hands," doubling down on claims that tunnel networks exist beneath hospitals and other public facilities.

Israel used infrastructure claims in several countries

The investigation also uncovered a broader pattern of similar disinformation tactics used by Israel in previous military operations. According to the report, 3D reenactments and fabricated animations have been used to depict alleged infrastructure in Syria, Lebanon, and Iran, countries that were later targeted by Israeli airstrikes.

Analysts and human rights organizations have condemned the use of manipulated visuals as part of a systematic propaganda campaign aimed at shaping public opinion and manufacturing justification for military aggression.

One example is how the Israeli occupation falsely claimed last year that Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza served as a base for Hamas. IOF spokesperson Daniel Hagari had come out with what he claimed was "concrete evidence", implicating 5 hospital buildings in Hamas operations during a briefing on October 27, 2023.

This culminated in an IOF raid on the hospital on November 15, 2023, in which Israeli forces opened fire indiscriminately toward its windows and wards, cutting off all communications to the hospital. Dozens of Israeli soldiers also stormed the emergency department at Al-Shifa, leading to the martyrdom and severe injury of scores of Palestinians, including babies.

Afterward, the IOF posted laughable footage of "evidence" linking Hamas to the hospital, and later three journalists from The New York Times, who were escorted by the invading Israeli forces through "only a portion of the sprawling Al-Shifa complex," debunked the Israeli claim of a Hamas military facility under the hospital.

A Washington Post investigation revealed that evidence shows otherwise

Israeli occupation violates ceasefire

The Israeli occupation forces have violated the recently declared ceasefire in Gaza, launching new drone strikes across the Strip that killed seven Palestinians and wounded several others, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent and Palestinian media outlets

Israeli media outlets admitted that the occupation's military resumed its attacks on Tuesday, just three days after the ceasefire came into effect, reigniting tensions amid ongoing humanitarian devastation in the besieged territory.

Five martyrs in Gaza City, one in Khan Younis

Our correspondents confirmed that five Palestinians were martyred after being targeted by Israeli drones in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza also reported that Israeli occupation forces struck the Halawa displacement camp in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Strip, injuring several displaced civilians.

In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian man was killed and another was injured in a drone strike on al-Fakhari, east of Khan Younis. Israeli drones also dropped bombs near Aabasan Clinic and on Abu Salah Street in Aabasan al-Kabira, further heightening fear among residents attempting to return to their homes.

Ceasefire agreement under threat

The latest Israeli violations come just days after Hamas political leader Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Palestinian negotiating delegation, announced that a comprehensive ceasefire agreement had been reached.

The deal, approved by the Israeli government last week, includes a complete cessation of hostilities, the phased withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, the reopening of the Rafah border crossing in both directions, and a prisoner exchange between the Palestinian Resistance and Israeli authorities.

However, today’s strikes threaten to unravel the fragile truce and undermine the progress achieved through months of mediation led by Qatar, Egypt, and international facilitators.

The devastation Israel left behind

During the genocidal war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosives across the enclave, killing 67,211 Palestinians and injuring 169,961 since October 7, 2023
The Gaza Municipality reported that the aggression left behind 50 million tons of debris, warning that reconstruction efforts cannot begin until major roads are reopened to allow the entry of equipment and aid. Cleaning and maintenance operations have begun in areas from which Israeli forces have withdrawn, as authorities work toward the gradual return of life to devastated neighborhoods.

On its part, the Gaza Civil Defense reported that the remains of more than 10,000 Palestinians are still trapped beneath the rubble caused by relentless Israeli bombardment. The agency warned that its crews lack the necessary equipment and resources to recover the bodies, as large swathes of the destroyed areas remain inaccessible.

It added that unexploded ordnance and remnants of Israeli missiles continue to pose a grave danger to civilians.
Ministry of Health prepares to receive martyrs’ bodies

On another note, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced its readiness to receive the bodies of martyrs expected to be released by the occupation in the coming days. Forensic, ambulance, and nursing teams have been mobilized to ensure the proper handling, documentation, and dignified transfer of the bodies to their families.

The Ministry emphasized that its medical staff continues to fulfill its humanitarian and professional duty “despite the harsh conditions and limited resources,” vowing to uphold the sanctity and dignity of every martyr.

Tied and beaten:

Gaza resident Naseem al-Radee was released from Israeli prisons, partially blind and physically broken, only to learn that his wife and children had been killed during Israel’s genocide in Gaza

Before his release, Israeli prison guards decided to send Naseem al-Radee off with what they called a "farewell". They tied his hands, forced him to the ground, and beat him brutally, ending his 22-month imprisonment the same way it began: with brutality.

When al-Radee finally caught sight of Gaza again after nearly two years, his vision was blurred from a boot to the eye, leaving him partially blind. The 33-year-old government worker from Beit Lahia said his eyesight problems were just one of many injuries he sustained during his detention.

Israeli occupation forces had arrested al-Radee on December 9, 2023, from a school-turned-shelter in Gaza. Over the next 22 months, he was shuffled between several Israeli detention centers, spending 100 days in an underground cell, before being released with 1,700 other Palestinian detainees on Monday.

Beating us mercilessly

Like the others released, al-Radee had never been charged with a crime. His account, marked by physical torture, starvation, and medical neglect, mirrors the testimonies of many others released under similar conditions.

Al-Radee’s ordeal, he said, reflected what the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem has described as a systemic policy of abuse targeting Palestinian detainees.

“The conditions in the prison were extremely harsh, from having our hands and feet bound to being subjected to the cruelest forms of torture,” al-Radee told The Guardian, describing his time in Nafha prison in al-Naqab desert, his final place of detention.

He explained that the beatings were not random but a daily routine enforced with military precision. “They used teargas and rubber bullets to intimidate us, in addition to constant verbal abuse and insults,” he said.

“They had a strict system of repression; the electronic gate of the section would open when the soldiers entered, and they would come in with their dogs, shouting ‘on your stomach, on your stomach,’ and start beating us mercilessly.”

Tortured, starved, and caged in conditions unfit for human life

According to al-Radee, up to 14 Palestinian detainees were packed into cells meant for five. The unhygienic conditions caused widespread skin and fungal infections, which went untreated. Another recently released detainee, 22-year-old university student Mohammed al-Asaliya, said he contracted scabies while imprisoned in Nafha.

“There was no medical care. We tried to treat ourselves by using floor disinfectant on our wounds, but it only made them worse,” Asaliya said. “The mattresses were filthy, the environment unhealthy, our immunity weak, and the food contaminated.”

He described a notorious section of the prison known as “the disco", where guards blasted loud music for two days straight as a form of psychological torture. “They also hung us on walls, sprayed us with cold air and water, and sometimes threw chili powder on detainees,” Asaliya added.

Weight loss; a common result

Both men lost significant weight during their detention. Radee said his weight dropped from 93 kilograms to 60, while Asaliya fell from 75 to 42 kilograms at one point.

Palestinian health officials confirmed that many detainees released on Monday arrived in critical condition.

“The signs of beating and torture were clearly visible on the prisoners’ bodies, such as bruises, fractures, wounds, marks from being dragged on the ground, and the marks of restraints that had bound their hands tightly,” said Eyad Qaddih, the public relations director at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, which received several of the released detainees.

He added that many had to be rushed to the emergency room and appeared to have been deprived of food for extended periods.

Israel transformed abuse into official policy

According to the Public Committee Against Torture in "Israel" (PCATI), around 2,800 Palestinians from Gaza remain in Israeli detention without charge. The practice of mass incarceration, rights groups say, has been enabled by legislative changes introduced after 7 October 2023.

An amendment passed in December 2023 to Israel’s Unlawful Combatants Law allows for indefinite administrative detention based solely on “reasonable grounds” that a detainee is an “unlawful combatant.”

Israeli human rights advocates argue that the surge in arrests has coincided with a steep deterioration in detention conditions, transforming abuse into an official policy.

“Generally, the amount and scale of torture and abuse in Israeli prisons and military camps has skyrocketed since 7 October. We see that as part of the policy led by Israeli decision-makers such as Itamar Ben-Gvir and others,” said Tal Steiner, executive director of PCATI.

Ben-Gvir, Israel's far-right police minister, has openly boasted of providing detainees with “the minimum amount of food.” In July, he wrote on social media, “I am here to ensure that the ‘terrorists’ receive the minimum of the minimum.”

My joy went with her

For many of the released detainees, however, the greatest pain awaited them at home. Upon returning to Gaza, al-Radee tried to call his wife, only to discover that her phone was disconnected. He later learned that his wife and all but one of his children had been killed during his imprisonment.

“I was very happy to be released because the date coincided with my youngest daughter Saba’s third birthday on 13 October,” he said. “I had planned to make her the best gift to make up for her first birthday, which we could not celebrate because the war had started.”

“I tried to find some joy in being released on this day,” al-Radee added softly, “but sadly, Saba went with my family, and my joy went with her.”

70 million tons of debris
20,000 lingering UXOs

Gaza faces a massive environmental disaster as millions of tons of rubble and unexploded ordnance block aid delivery, with Israel still banning equipment for recovery efforts

Authorities in Gaza have warned that the scale of destruction caused by Israel’s two-year-long genocidal war has reached an unprecedented level in modern history.

According to government estimates as of mid-October 2025, the enclave now holds between 65 and 70 million tons of debris and rubble, the remains of thousands of homes, public buildings, and vital infrastructure deliberately destroyed by Israeli occupation forces.

Officials described the devastation as unparalleled, turning Gaza into an environmental and structural disaster zone that severely hinders the delivery of humanitarian aid and obstructs ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Immense challenges

Efforts to clear the wreckage are expected to face immense challenges, primarily due to the Israeli ban on the entry of heavy machinery and construction equipment, coupled with the continued closure of all border crossings. "Israel" has also deliberately prevented the entry of essential materials and tools needed to recover bodies from beneath the ruins, the authorities said.

“This tragic reality demands that the international community fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities,” the statement read, urging immediate global pressure on "Israel" to reopen crossings and allow the start of large-scale debris removal across the devastated territory.

Preliminary assessments further indicate the presence of approximately 20,000 unexploded ordnances, including bombs and missiles dropped by the Israeli occupation forces, posing an extreme threat to civilians and field workers. Experts warn that these deadly remnants require specialized technical and security handling before clearance operations can begin safely.

Officials emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive debris management plan that includes site mapping, hazardous waste disposal, and strategies for recycling and temporary storage of debris. Such a framework, they said, is essential to safely restore life in Gaza and rebuild what has become one of the most extensive humanitarian catastrophes in modern history.

85% of Khan Younis destroyed, City struggles under massive ruin

Last week, the Khan Younis Municipality announced that 85% of the city has been destroyed as a result of the Israeli war, with an estimated 400,000 tons of rubble requiring removal from streets and neighborhoods.

Speaking at a press conference, the mayor of Khan Younis detailed the scale of devastation, noting that 300 kilometers of water networks have been completely destroyed, while 75% of the city’s sewage system has sustained severe damage, worsening both health and environmental conditions for residents.

The municipality is also grappling with an accumulation of over 350,000 tons of waste, a crisis compounded by severely limited resources and increasingly hazardous working conditions.

The mayor reported that only nine municipal teams are currently operational, working to clear blocked roads and critical access points. However, he emphasized that their efforts are at risk of stalling due to a shortage of diesel fuel.

He further stressed the urgent need for modern machinery capable of clearing rubble and heavy debris, as well as new power generators to replace those that have been destroyed or rendered inoperable during the attacks.

In a similar vein, the United Nations said last Saturday that the Israeli war devastated Gaza City, further exacerbating an already severe humanitarian crisis. Furthermore, satellite imagery indicated widespread destruction across the city.

Gaza ministry reports 29 martyrs in 24 hours, four by direct IOF fire

Earlier today, health authorities in the Gaza Strip reported 29 Palestinians killed and 10 wounded over 24 hours as a result of continued Israeli aggression. The latest fatalities include 22 bodies retrieved from under the rubble, three individuals who succumbed to their wounds, and four killed in direct targeting by the Israeli occupation forces.

Civil defense and ambulance crews continue to face serious challenges in accessing victims still trapped under debris or lying in the streets, due to the destruction and ongoing security threats.

Total number of reported casualties 67,967 martyrs and 170,179 injuries

Israeli forces launch new raids
detentions across West Bank

Israeli occupation forces launched a new wave of raids and detentions across several areas of the occupied West Bank on Friday, continuing their campaign of repression against Palestinian residents

According to Israeli media, the occupation's military conducted extensive searches in the Beitar Illit city settlement, claiming concerns over a potential “security incident.” The sweeping operations came amid heightened military activity across the West Bank, where daily incursions continue to take place.

Raids and injuries in Nablus

In the northern city of Nablus, occupation forces detained two young Palestinians during a pre-dawn raid. Local sources reported that one of the youths was shot with live ammunition inside his home before being detained.

Witnesses said Israeli special units infiltrated the al-Makhfiyya neighborhood under cover of darkness, followed by armored military vehicles that stormed the area. The forces surrounded a residential building, opened fire inside one of the homes, and later arrested two Palestinians, one of them wounded.

On Thursday evening, a Palestinian youth was martyred after being shot by Israeli occupation forces during a raid on the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin. The incident adds to the growing number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank amid "Israel’s" ongoing military operations and collective punishment measures.

Israeli occupation forces continue to target Palestinians and their property throughout the occupied West Bank through repeated raids, home invasions, and arbitrary detentions. These operations often lead to violent confrontations, casualties, and widespread damage to civilian areas.

The continued uptick in violence in the West Bank comes after the Israeli regime supposedly halted the majority of its assaults in Gaza, in line with a ceasefire agreed to with the Palestinian Resistance.

Exclusive: Freed Mahmoud al-Arida
on prison torture, Op Freedom Tunnel

Freed Palestinian detainee Mahmoud al-Arida, in an interview for Al Mayadeen, has detailed the severe abuse and torture Palestinian detainees face in Israeli prisons, recounted breaking out of Gilboa Prison along with his comrades under Operation Freedom Tunnel, and made a powerful call for solidarity with the Palestinian cause

Al-Arida confirmed that all means of communication were completely cut off and that the detainees involved in Operation Freedom Tunnel - the 2021 prison break from Gilboa Prison - were isolated from the other detainees to prevent any information from getting out.

In his interview for Al Mayadeen, al-Arida said that during a previous detainee exchange deal, the Israeli authorities had informed him he would be freed, but instead, he was taken out and beaten, only to find out that none of it was true.

"We heard about beatings, torture, shackling, and the jailer would boast in front of the detainees about tearing up the Quran," the freed detainee stated, pointing out that the prison director cannot object to the jailers' decisions, with Israeli Police Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, even telling them, "Do whatever you want, just not in front of the surveillance cameras."

Ben-Gvir oversaw torture in al-Naqab prison

Furthermore, he described how Ben-Gvir visited the al-Naqab prison to personally observe the treatment of detainees and oversaw the torture operations.

He also revealed during his interview for Al Mayadeen that he went out of Megiddo prison for a single day, the day he was told he would be released, stating, "I met with other detainees and was stunned by their high morale."

Al-Arida emphasized his unwavering resolve, adding, "I lived as a free man who rejects the occupation, and from the very first moment of my arrest, I tried to break free; not a minute passed without me thinking about it."

The freed detainee recalled that on the day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the sound of explosions was shaking the region, adding, "When we saw incoming footage of the al-Qassam Brigades, we were overjoyed."

He stressed that the feeling of leaving brothers behind in captivity is extremely difficult, particularly the leaders, the sick, and, namely, Yaaqoub Qadri - one of al-Arida's comrades in Operation Freedom Tunnel - who requires medical treatment. Al-Arida added, "We held onto a great hope that Marwan Barghouti and other leaders like [Ahmad] Sa'adat would be released, as that would have represented a major turning point."

Reflecting on the painful news of the leaders' martyrdom, he expressed a firm belief that such ultimate sacrifices pave the way to victory, noting that the people of Gaza made their sacrifices to bring joy to others, and so it is a duty to celebrate, allowing them to see the results of their sacrifices.

Al-Arida recalls Operation Freedom Tunnel

Speaking to Al Mayadeen, al-Arida recounted details of Operation Freedom Tunnel, explaining that he had considered sealing the tunnel after the gate broke but later discovered that "the broken slab actually worked to our advantage."

The freed Palestinian detainee explained that the moment they broke through the concrete and went underground, they felt a sense of freedom from that very instant.

He stressed that he has never for a moment regretted the operation, pointing out that it served as a powerful message and that many have acknowledged its significant impact on the Palestinian struggle.

He concluded his interview with Al Mayadeen with a call for solidarity with the Palestinian cause, asserting that every person in the nation has a role to play in achieving their shared hopes for freedom.

Israel kills 11 Palestinian family members
in Gaza’s deadliest truce breach

Strike on civilian vehicle by Israeli military in Gaza City marks deadliest violation of eight-day ceasefire with Hamas

Israeli forces have killed 11 members of a Palestinian family in Gaza, the deadliest single violation of the fragile ceasefire since it took effect eight days ago.

The attack happened on Friday evening when a tank shell was fired by Israeli forces at a civilian vehicle carrying the Abu Shaaban family in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City, according to Gaza’s civil defence.

Seven children and three women were among those killed when the Israeli military fired on the vehicle as the family attempted to reach their home to inspect it, civil defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal said in a statement.

“They could have been warned or dealt with differently,” Basal said, adding that “what happened confirms that the occupation is still thirsty for blood, and insists on committing crimes against innocent civilians.”

Hamas condemned what it called a “massacre” and said the family was targeted without justification. The group called on United States President Donald Trump and mediators to pressure Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement.

In that attack, Israeli soldiers opened fire on people who crossed the so-called “yellow line”, the demarcation to which Israel’s military was supposed to pull back under the ceasefire terms.

Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary, reporting from Gaza, said many Palestinians lack internet access and are unaware of where Israeli forces remain positioned along the demarcation lines, putting families at risk.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has said that the yellow lines in Gaza will be soon marked out for clarity.

Israeli forces remain in control of approximately 53 percent of Gaza, Khoudary said.

As the exchange of captives for Palestinian prisoners under the provisions of the deal has continued, Israel has killed at least 28 Palestinians, and heavily restricted the flow of desperately needed aid, including food and medical supplies.

Israel has continued to seal the Rafah crossing with Egypt and blocked other key border crossings, preventing large-scale aid deliveries into the enclave.

The United Nations warned this week that aid convoys are struggling to reach famine-hit areas, with 49 percent of people accessing less than six litres of drinking water per day – well below emergency standards.

The World Food Programme said it has brought an average of 560 tonnes of food daily into Gaza since the ceasefire began, far below what is needed to address widespread malnutrition and prevent famine.

Hamas has said it remains committed to the ceasefire terms, including returning the remains of Israeli captives still under Gaza’s rubble.

The group handed over the body of another captive on Friday evening, bringing the total to 10 since the truce began. Hamas said it needs heavy machinery and excavation equipment to retrieve more remains, but Israel has blocked their entry.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud said by blocking heavy equipment and machinery from entering, Israel is creating “a challenge for the residents of Gaza who are experienced and have the expertise to search and to dig out bodies from under the rubble” with that type of equipment.

45 killed 158 wounded
in 24 hours in Gaza

Israeli media: Israel to halt entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza until further notice.

Al Mayadeen correspondent: One woman was killed and several children were injured as a result of Israeli bombing of displaced Gazans' tents in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Israel continues to breach the Gaza ceasefire, killing dozens. Over 68,000 Palestinians martyred since October 7, says Gaza Ministry of Health.

Israel continues to blatantly violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, killing and wounding numerous Palestinians despite Hamas' adherence.

Two Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces east of Gaza City on Monday, as Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the sector continue. A medical source at the Baptist Hospital reported that two Palestinians were killed after being targeted with live ammunition in the Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

This occurred alongside a naval bombardment by Israeli gunboats off the coast of the city and the firing of weapons from occupation vehicles stationed to its east.

Al-Awda Hospital announced that over the past 24 hours, it received 24 fatalities and 74 injuries from Israeli shelling that targeted camps in the central Gaza Strip, after medical sources confirmed yesterday that occupation forces killed 44 Palestinians in various areas across the territory.

On the other hand, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that 57 fatalities, including 45 directly targeted by Israel and 12 recovered bodies, in addition to 158 wounded, arrived at the strip's hospitals over the past 24 hours.

This brings the toll of the Israeli war on Gaza 68,216 martyred and 170,361 wounded since October 7, 2023. Meanwhile, the death toll since the latest ceasefire agreement reached on October 11 has reached 80 martyrs, 303 wounded, and 426 bodies extracted from under the rubble.

In light of the continuing Israeli violations of the ceasefire, the Government Media Office in Gaza stated that the Israeli occupation has committed a series of serious and repeated violations since the war was declared over, noting that by Sunday, there had been 80 documented breaches which flagrantly violate the ceasefire decision and international humanitarian law.

Sde Teiman horrors: 135 Palestinian
bodies Israel returned are mutilated

Images reviewed by The Guardian, too graphic to publish, show Palestinian victims blindfolded, bound, and one with a rope still around his neck

Gaza health officials say at least 135 mutilated bodies of Palestinians returned by Israel were previously held at the notorious Sde Teiman concentration camp in southern occupied Palestine, which is already under investigation for torture and deaths in custody.

Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, and a spokesperson for Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, told The Guardian that documents found inside the body bags indicated all the remains originated from Sde Teiman. The site, previously exposed for keeping Palestinian detainees in cages, blindfolded, handcuffed, shackled to hospital beds, and forced to wear nappies, has long been associated with severe human rights abuses
“The document tags inside the body bags are written in Hebrew and clearly indicate that the remains were held at Sde Teiman,” al-Bursh said. “The tags also showed that DNA tests had been carried out on some of them there.”

Israel has been allegedly conducting an ongoing criminal investigation into the deaths of 36 Palestinians who were detained at the same facility.

As part of the US-brokered truce in Gaza, Hamas has handed over the remains of several captives who died during the war, while Israel has so far returned the bodies of 150 Palestinians.

Images of the Palestinian victims reviewed by The Guardian, too graphic to publish, show several of the deceased blindfolded, their hands tied behind their backs, and one with a rope around his neck.

Doctors: Israel carried out killings and torture of Palestinians

Doctors in Khan Younis who examined the bodies said both autopsies and field observations “clearly indicate that Israel carried out acts of murder, summary executions and systematic torture against many of the Palestinians.” Health officials reported “clear signs of direct gunfire at point-blank range and bodies crushed beneath Israeli tank tracks.”

Eyad Barhoum, administrative director of the Nasser Medical Complex, said the bodies arrived “with no names but just codes,” adding that the process of identifying them had begun.

Evidence strongly suggests that many of the Palestinians were executed. Sde Teiman serves both as a detention camp notorious for deaths in custody and as a storage site for bodies abducted from Gaza. Human rights groups are calling for an investigation to determine how many victims died at the facility.

Where is the world? All our hostages returned tortured and broken

One of the returned bodies was that of 34-year-old Mahmoud Ismail Shabat from northern Gaza, whose remains bore marks of hanging and crushed legs, suggesting he was killed or injured in Gaza before being taken to Sde Teiman. His brother Rami identified him by a surgical scar, saying, “What hurt us the most was that his hands were tied, and his body was covered with clear signs of torture.” Their mother added, “Where is the world? All our detainees returned tortured and broken.”

Palestinian doctors say the fact that many of the bodies were blindfolded and bound points to torture and executions during detention at Sde Teiman, where, according to Israeli media and whistleblower reports, nearly 1,500 bodies of Palestinians from Gaza are being held.

A whistleblower who spoke to The Guardian described seeing a Gaza patient brought in “with a gunshot wound to the left chest,” blindfolded, handcuffed, and naked on arrival. Another patient arrived with a leg wound under similar conditions.

Another witness previously described how Gaza detainees were handcuffed to hospital beds, forced to wear nappies, and kept blindfolded. “These were patients who had been captured by the Israeli army while being treated in Gaza hospitals and brought here,” he said. “They had limbs and infected wounds. They were moaning in pain.”

In one case, a detainee’s hand was amputated “because the wrists had become gangrenous due to handcuffing wounds.”

Palestinians suffered sexual, physical abuse in Israeli detention

Palestinian journalist Shadi Abu Seido, who works for Palestine Today, said he was abducted from al-Shifa Hospital on 18 March 2024 and held for 20 months in Israeli custody, including 100 days at Sde Teiman.

“They stripped me completely naked for 10 hours in the cold,” he said in a video interview with Turkish broadcaster TRT. “I was then transferred to Sde Teiman and held there for 100 days, during which I remained handcuffed and blindfolded. Many died in detention, others lost their minds. Some had limbs amputated. They suffered sexual and physical abuse. They brought dogs that urinated on us. When I asked why I had been arrested, they answered: ‘We have killed all the journalists. They died once. But we brought you here and you will die hundreds of times.’”

Horrifying, yet not surprising

Naji Abbas, director of the prisoners and detainees department at Physicians for Human Rights "Israel" (PHR), said, “The signs of torture and abuse found on the bodies of Palestinians recently returned by Israel to Gaza are horrifying, yet, sadly, not surprising.”

“These findings corroborate what Physicians for Human Rights Israel has exposed over the past two years about conditions inside Israeli detention facilities, particularly at the Sde Teiman camp, where Palestinians have been subjected to systematic torture and killings by soldiers and prison guards,” he stressed.

PHR stated, “The unprecedented number of Palestinians who have died in Israeli custody, together with verified evidence documented of deaths resulting from torture and medical neglect, and now the findings on the returned bodies, leave no doubt: an independent international investigation is urgently needed to hold those responsible in Israel accountable.”

The Guardian shared photographs of the bodies with an Israeli doctor familiar with the field hospital at Sde Teiman. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the physician said one image “shows the man had his hands tied likely with zip ties. There is a change in colour between the arms and the hands at the level of the zip ties, likely indicating ischemic changes due to excessive restraints.”

He added, “This might be someone who was either injured and captured (thus died under Israeli custody) or someone who died due to injuries inflicted after his capture.”

Dr. Morris Tidball-Binz, a UN rapporteur and forensic specialist, urged that “a call should be made for independent and impartial forensic assistance to assist efforts to examine and identify the dead.”

When asked whether the Palestinian bodies had been taken from Sde Teiman, the Israeli occupation force said it was “not commenting on this matter.”

According to the UN, at least 75 Palestinians have died in Israeli custody since October 7, 2023.

Aid choked, ceasefire broken:
Israel kills another 13 in Gaza

Despite a declared truce, Israeli attacks continue in Gaza, leaving more casualties and worsening shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Tuesday that 13 Palestinians were killed and 8 others injured over the past 24 hours as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks, despite the declared ceasefire.

According to the ministry’s daily report, the latest fatalities include seven Palestinians killed in direct Israeli strikes and six others whose bodies were retrieved from under the rubble. Rescue teams continue to face major obstacles in reaching victims trapped beneath debris due to widespread destruction across the Strip.

Israel’s genocide: 68,229 killed and 170,369 injured

Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025, Gaza has recorded 87 killings, 311 injuries, and 432 reiterved. The ministry also confirmed receiving 15 unidentified bodies returned by Israel, bringing the total number of remains handed over to 165.

Ongoing Israeli violations and arrests

Israeli invading units detained three fishermen after opening fire on their boats off the coast of Gaza City, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent. Israeli naval vessels also fired shells toward the Gaza shoreline, while an Israeli drone targeted the town of Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, wounding one person. Artillery shelling was also reported in the same area.

Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) said it remains unable to deliver the required 2,000 tons of aid per day into Gaza, as not all border crossings have reopened. Current supplies, the agency said, are sufficient for only about 500,000 people for two weeks.

The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that since the start of the ceasefire, only 986 aid trucks have entered the Strip, out of 6,600 agreed upon under the terms of the truce, reflecting “Israel’s” continued obstruction of humanitarian access.

Palestinian detainees: 80 killed since start of war

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said on Tuesday that the number of documented deaths among detainees since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza has risen to 80, including at least 47 from Gaza, following the death of detainee Kamel al-Ajrami on Monday.

The group stated that since 1967, a total of 317 detainees have died in Israeli custody, a figure corroborated by multiple human rights organizations over the decades. Recent field reports indicate that dozens of detainees, particularly from Gaza, were executed after arrest, the statement added. Israel continues to withhold bodies of 88 detainees killed in Israeli custody

The PPS condemned what it described as “an unprecedentedly brutal phase in the history of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement,” citing systematic killings and torture inside Israeli prisons. It also accused Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir of inciting the enactment of a law to execute Palestinian detainees.

“These acts constitute a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law,” the statement said, urging immediate international intervention to protect Palestinian detainees and end abuses in Israeli prisons.

Israel's approval of
West Bank land grab bills

Hamas, Fatah, and regional countries condemn the Knesset's "annexation" bill, calling it a violation of international law and an attempt at Israeli settlement expansion

Condemnations have poured in after the Israeli Knesset approved a preliminary reading for two bills, which would impose Israeli "sovereignty" over the West Bank.

In a public statement issued this Wednesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, characterized the Israeli Knesset's preliminary approval of the two bills to "annex" the West Bank and impose Israeli "sovereignty" over the settlement known as Ma'ale Adumim as a "clear expression of the ugly face of the colonial occupation."

Hamas added that the occupation is insisting on proceeding with its attempts to legalize settlement activity and impose Israeli "sovereignty" over occupied Palestinian lands, constituting a blatant violation of all pertinent international laws and resolutions.

"Frenzied attempts by the occupation to annex West Bank lands are null, void, and illegitimate and will not change the fact that the West Bank is Palestinian land by virtue of history, international law, and the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice," Hamas affirmed.

Hamas calls on the international community to act

Additionally, the movement held the occupation responsible for the consequences of these laws, which it described as illegitimate, calling on the United Nations, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn this move.

Furthermore, it urged these bodies to work toward curbing the occupation's policies and ensuring accountability for its leaders for their crimes against the Palestinian people and their flagrant violations of international law.

Meanwhile, Fatah stated that the Knesset's preliminary approval of the West Bank annexation bill will not alter historical and legal facts nor will it erase the rights of our people.

Resistance Committees condemn Israeli 'sovereignty' bill

Following the Israeli Knesset's preliminary vote to impose its "sovereignty" over areas of the West Bank, the Palestinian Resistance Committees issued a condemnation, labeling the legislation as part of a broader pattern of genocide and forced displacement.

The statement directly links the expansionist policies in the West Bank with the ongoing war on Gaza, presenting them as facets of a single, systematic effort against Palestinians.

The Committees asserted that the West Bank, al-Quds, and all occupied land are purely Palestinian territory where the Israeli occupier has no sovereignty and that their people will remain steadfast, holding fast to their right to the land, deeply rooted in it, and defending it by all available means.

The statement pointed out that the horrific practices and systematic crimes carried out by settler militias under the protection of the Israeli army and with incitement from the fascist Netanyahu government will neither achieve their dream of "annexation" and control nor succeed in imposing a policy of forced displacement and expanding settlement outposts.

The statement issued a dual call for action, urging the Palestinian Authority to fulfill its duty to protect Palestinians in the West Bank from escalating settler violence, while also appealing to international communities to intensify their protests and demonstrations to hold "Israel" accountable for its actions across the occupied territories.

Concluding their statement, the Committees called on Palestinians to intensify resistance through all available means to thwart Israeli plans for "annexation" and displacement.
Palestinian Foreign Ministry rejects Israeli 'annexation' bill

On its part, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Knesset's vote in a statement, saying it strongly rejects the attempts to "annex" Palestinian land.

"The Ministry emphasized that the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, constitute a single geographic unit over which Israel has no sovereignty," it said in a statement.
Regional condemnations pour in

On the regional level, Jordan issued a statement condemning the Israeli approval of the two legislations, describing them as violations of international law.

Jordan

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the move as a flagrant violation of international law, warning that it undermines the "two-state solution" and the Palestinian people's right to an independent state based on the 1967 borders with the eastern part of occupied al-Quds as its capital.

Ministry Spokesperson Fuad Majali affirmed Jordan's absolute rejection and condemnation of any Israeli attempts to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank. He stated this violates international law and UN resolutions, specifically citing Resolution 2334, which condemns Israeli measures to alter the demographic composition and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including the eastern part of al-Quds.

The spokesperson further cited the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion on the illegality of the occupation and its settlement activities, warning that the continuation of these unilateral Israeli measures, which violate international law and infringe upon holy sites in al-Quds, is both illegitimate and invalid.

Qatar

Meanwhile, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement on X, condemning in the strongest terms the Israeli parliament's approval of the two laws seeking to impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank and a settlement.

The statement characterized the Israeli decision as a blatant violation of the Palestinian people's historical rights, as well as a direct challenge to both international law and resolutions relevant to the issue.

The Qatari Ministry called the international community, and specifically the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill their legal and moral obligations and take urgent action to stop Israeli authorities from proceeding with their expansionist plans and illegal settlements in the West Bank.

Concluding its statement, the Ministry affirmed its solidarity with the Palestinian cause, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the "two-state solution".

Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed the kingdom’s “complete rejection of all settlement and expansionist violations carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities.”

It reiterated support for the Palestinian people’s “inalienable and historical right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions.”
Kuwait

Kuwait also strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s decision, which is a "clear violation of international law that delegitimizes Israeli settlements," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It reiterated the call upon the international community to assume its role in "stopping those illegal practices and the occupation’s expansion ambitions which obstruct chances for peace and the two-state solution."

Furthermore, it stressed Kuwait’s unwavering stance in support of Palestinians’ rights, including the "establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital."
