a question about Medias in Turkey

PostAuthor: dyaoko » Wed Dec 27, 2006 3:04 pm

I have a question about Turkish Law ,

is it free to everybody to start a media in Turkey ?
let say a NON-TURKISH citizen wants to start a radio in Turkey , is it allowed?
let say we want to start a Kurdish radio ... is it allowed?

in Iran, only government can own Radio/ TV , private Radio/TV is not allowed.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then YOU WIN !

They can be private... The application has to be accepted and dealt with by the state... This "state" is not the elected government - but the people whom the generals are there to protect: the followers of Atagû and his legacy...

So these people will evaluate wether or not your radio/TV channel can open to air - and then you'll get a clear order: before airing or broadcasting, you have to have your program accepted for airing by a bunch of Atagû-ists...

And then if your radio/TV channel is in Kurdish - there is a WHOLE set of new rules: how long you can broadcast in Kurdish - and WHAT you can broadcast... And then we come down to more sensitive issues... Like what the POINT of your radio/TV channel is... You are banned from Politics etc. anything that goes AGAINST the republics interests... For example:

You can not insult "Turkishness"...
You can not accept an Armenian Genocide...
You can not advocate rights for Kurds...

Etc...

And I guess you have to be a citizen of Turkey to own a radio/TV channel... Since the legal papers you sign will binde you to the republic's laws...

thanks kak diri for information ,
so like all dictatorships you can not have a free media in Turkey , so why the hell america calls Turkey, the model of democracy ?

how about southern kurdistan law (and iraq law)? can somebody start a radio there and broadcast to the whole Kurdistan (including AtaGu occupied part) ?

I really feel the lack of an independence Radio for Kurds , which can be heared in all of kurdistan

You know most countries have these types of regulations...

But FEW countries, like Turkey and Iran have institutions as such I mentioned - which only have ONE role: to "protect" the legacy of their creator (Atagû & Gûmeînî in these two cases) - and to protect their loyalists...

Naturally they have ENEMIES... Unlike in Europe for example - where the state has no clear ENEMY... And so - the state is not paranoid and will let it's citizen broadcast about most things - except rascist content etc...

Yeah I know what you mean kak Dyaoko... Like Radio Êrîvan back in the days... If people wanted to - they could hear Radio Êrîvan all the way down to Bagdad...

Atagû is Kurdish for "Atatürk"...

Ata is a Turkish word which means "Father"... "Türk" is Turkish for "Turk" and Gû is Kurdish for "Shit":

Atatürk = Father of Turks

Atagû = Father of Shit

You're welcome...
