Hrant Dink has been killed

That's a terrible event for democracy in Turkey. Hrant Dink was a very brave man, facing all fanatism, from Armenians as from Turks. The only good thing is that now in Ankara and Istanbul, in Taksim and Istiklal caddesi, some people bring flowers and shout : "We are all Armenians ! We are all Kurds ! Long live friendship between people !"

Let's hope that Turkish politicians will face their own responsibility, especially concerning this stupid Article 301, which makes such intellectuals and journalists as targets for nationalists.

He said Kurds shouldn't trust the Americans too much. This because the Americans will leave some day. He is not anti-Kurdish.. he participated in a peace conference earlier before. And your beloved PKK isn't anything better.. because they have their own hit squads too.
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

It's a pity that the numerous extrajudicial killings of the kurdish journalists in the 90's didnt get so much attention as for instance the murder of apê Mûsa... his killer is still walking free.

Time has changed. In 1992, Hrant Dink's murder would not stirr Turkish opinion like that.

It's funny. A Dutch newspaper talked about this.. but they didn't mention the word "Kurdish", only "journalists, intellectuals, etc".

The reporter of that article (Fidan Ekiz) is turkish, i wonder if she deliberately didnt mention the ethnic background of all those journalists and intellectuals.
