ERBIL, May 2 (AKnews) - A delegation from the Kurdish National Council of Syria will visit Moscow in the coming few days to demand the country to stop supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
Abdul Hakim Bashar Public relations chief for the council Abdul-Hakim Bashar said the delegation will demand Russia to oppose Assad's regime in favor of democracy and granting the rights of the Syrian people. The delegation will also call on Russia to support the issue of Kurds as the second largest ethnic group in Syria.
The visit follows an official invitation from the Russian Foreign Ministry, said Bashar
Shalal Gado The officials will discuss the recent security and political developments in Syrian with Russian senior officials, said Shalal Gado, a leader of the council who is now in the Kurdistan Region.
Both Russia and China used a veto to ban two steps the United Nations Security Council intended to take against Assad's regime.
A delegation from the Kurdish Council is also expected to arrive in Washington DC on May 6 to discuss Syrian and Kurdish issues with senior officials.
