yes true, it was deliberately left for PYD to piss turkey off, otherwise assad stil exists in Qamishlo which is where the HQ of KNC is.

Syria is going to disintegrate. Arab Sunnies will take over most of Syria and Allewites have to save their skin by controlling areas with allewite majority. So it is wise for assad to leave Kurds alone so that later he units with them against their common threat, Arab Sunnies. This is his idea as a last resort to save allewites in Syria.

Then kurds could make deals with allawite for acces to sea. Would be perfect KRG + West kurdistan+Allawite state would be great oil route if Turkey doesnt agree to KRG pipeline. i know Allawites would have to cooperate with Kurds in a future state to be able to stand a chance against sunni aggression. Everyone wins.

No his withdrawal from west Kurdistan was only tactical. I think the real war in WK will be against the FSA or against Turkey. Now west Kurdistan need every soldier and weapon they can get to to protect themselves. And PYD dont can defend west Kurdistan alone, they must form a joint force with the Rojava Peshmergas.

Kurds will become in a stronger position than the other two and should get access to sea easily. It is in the interest of oil market for Kurds to have access to the sea, which is somethig also compatible to Iranian interest.

The KRG is supporting the Kurds in the west fully.
