The threats from American congress worries Maliki, and his coalition urges USA not to use equipping Iraqi forces as a pressure card.
Abas Bayati, an MP on the SLC list belongs to Nouri Al Maliki party announced that the threats of US congress regarding "re-evaluation" of the security agreement between US and Iraq is not a positive move.
He added "we want to have good relations with the USA but we urge US government not to use selling Iraqi forces weapons as a pressure card", adding "the weapons are for defending Iraq not attacking".
Bayati also showed his concerns regarding the lack of public services in Iraq particularity in the electricity sector.
Last Saturday US congress demanded Baghdad to oppose the Iranian threats and asked Iraq not to assist Iran, and announced if Iraq does not cooperate with the US against Iran then the US government will reevaluate its strategic agreement with Iraq.

Nobody will help us in case of tikriti attack, look at Syria nobody is doing anything, well atleast the least they can do. This is why Tikriti wants weapons so badly while the Iraqis suffer, all he is thinking of is power and how to eliminate his rivals including kurds. Even Saddam didnt do this at the start, Tikriti will get even worse than Saddam if we compare their early history.
