I cannot understand the words but if shows the Kurdish shame - the Kurds from the south such as Barzani wear Kurdish clothes with pride - the Kurds from the north do not even bother to wear Kurdish clothes as a sign of unity and respect - they look like what they are allowing themselves to become - third class TURKS

The Kurds from the south speak in what I assume to be sorani - Barzani's message is translated into TURKISH

Barzani spoke kurmancî as well as Baydemir (Barzani is from Behdinan which is a Kurmancî area) There was a translator for Turkish TV and Turkish press, I guess.

In France do many Kurds even bother to learn Kurdish?

Sadly in England very few Kurds ever bother to learn Kurdish - and what makes it worse is they leave their children sitting in front of TURKISH TV programs for hours - they do not even bother encouraging them to learn English let alone Kurdish X(

French Kurds are like in England, I think : most of Northern Kurds speak Turkish at home. Others speak Kurdish and French, but most of their their children understand their mother language without learning it at school (though there are no Kurdish courses). I think it is the main problem : we should have Kurdish courses as a 2nd or a 3rd foreign language at what we call 'collège-lycée' : 11- 18 until Baccalaureat.

Scandinavian countries are better for that.
