Kurdish boxer Sarwa Palani, who lives in Finland and represents the Järvenpää Kehäkarhut Boxing Club, has won the gold medal in the women’s 60kg category at the 2025 Finland Club Boxing Championships
The championships were held from December 12 to 14, 2025, in the city of Lappeenranta.
On Sunday, December 14, Palani secured first place at the elite women’s level after defeating Eva Latti of the Oulun Voimailijat Boxing Club in the final bout.
Palani had advanced to the final a day earlier, on Saturday, December 13, after beating Yliverta, a boxer from the Lalo Boxing Club, in the semi-final of the same weight class.
Speaking to a sports outlet after being crowned champion, Palani said returning to competition after a 14-month break made the victory especially meaningful.
- She described the title as the realization of a long-held dream, noting that after nine years of waiting she is now Finland’s national club champion for 2025
Palani expressed pride in training with the Järvenpää Kehäkarhut Boxing Club and thanked her coaches, teammates, family, training partners and everyone who supported her on the journey.
