
The Kirkuk FC, which had previously decided not to participate in any championships due to financial crisis, are to receive help from the head of Kirkuk Provincial Council and the Governor in an effort to aid and rescue the club.
A source from the Kirkuk FC, who preferred to remain anonymous stated on September 27, “As the Kirkuk FC administration board had announced in a press conference to halt all the club’s activity due to financial crises on September 19, the board has now met with Najmadin Karim, the governor of Kirkuk and Hassan Toran, head of the KPC to sort the problems out.”
According to the source, Najmadin Karim has promised to provide the wages, the costs for contracting players and a bus for transportation, while Hassan Toran promised to feed the club with the budget necessary to bid for transferring professional players to the club so that the club would be able to compete and achieve titles and trophies to keep the city shining.
