I think its related to the Êzidî Kurds where they celebrate the New Year on the first Wednesday of April.

5 march - Raparin la shari Ranya (7 - Shari Slemany, 11 - Shari Hewler)

We also have 12 march - Revolution in Qamishlo (2004)

Maybe not a holiday, but the day to remember:
13 November - hundreds of Kurdish kids burnt to death in Amude cinema.

adding birthday of ochalan to the calendar, probably wouldnt be the best idea because
in kurdistan lots of people have fake birth dates (mostly because families want to send their sons to mandatory military service LATER than 18 years old) or some other reasons , and also lots of people dont even remember their birthday, it is not like west that we care about it too much.
if we want to add his birthday, we need to find birthday of all kurdish leaders

I would add the day that ochalan was arrested as a Historic day to the calendar (does someone know when he was arrested) or when he founded a party ,

It is a date that Kurds in NK recognise as his birthday whether or not it is his actual birthday is not important. I do not believe Kurds celebrate anyone else's birthday

Rather like people celebrating the birth of Jesus on 25 December

I believe that Ocalan was arrested on 15 February 1999

I remember the day well because my friends and I all went to protest outside the Greek Embassy in London

The PKK was officially founded 27 November 1978

Thank you Kulka. I have to confess that I did not know about the fire in Amude. I cannot imagine how a town recovers from something like that.
