Anyone knows this story? Or knows about Bitlis? (BEDLIS)
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

there was a program on bitlis on kurdistan tv yesterday. Great city with rich culture and history. Sharafxani dynasty were from bitlis too, and they guy who wrote sherafname, the last kurdish prince of the sharafxani dynasty was from that city. It was the center of education and culture.
