Kurdistan, (pukmedia) - More than 1000 ancient artifacts and ruins from the first century AD and the Stone Age are on display in the Hawler Museum.

Erbil’s Civilization Museum, supervised by the Erbil Antiquities Department, a subsidiary of the Tourism Ministry has a collection of around 1,000 items. Its artifacts are displayed in three middle-sized halls dedicated to the Neanderthals and the Stone Age, the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and the Islamic Abbasid Period.

The oldest of the artifacts date back to 45,000-65,000 AD and the newest are from the Abbasid period.

Hundreds of local and foreign college students, professors, and locals visit the Civilization Museum daily.

The capital of the Kurdistan Region, Erbil, is located 350 km north of Iraq’s capital, Baghdad. Erbil is Iraq’s most stable and secure city in Iraq, next to Sulaimani. Erbil houses luxury five-star hotels, modern malls and large building complexes.
