I wonder who would replace him at the presidency of Iraq. And I think that PUK will dissolve itself by internal fights if Jalal Talabani is gone.

This is terrible news. Jalal Talabani is probably the most trusted politician Kurds have. He is thought by many to be far less corrupt than most of the other politicians.

Other sources state that he has been showing signs of strain for the past year. We must hope and pray that he recovers quickly.

Even if he recover, he is quite old and we could wonder if he will keep sequels.

Concerning his succession, most people believe that Berham Salih could become president of Iraq. But about the future of PUK, I wonder if it could escape to a new split after its historical president.

Are you hiding under the bed ;)

We have a saying in England "No news is good news" but I feel that it does not apply in this case

If there was good news then surely the hospital and his party would want it to be released immediately

Talabani was in intensive care after the stroke, said Kurdish Lawmaker Mahmoud Othman, who said he was headed to the hospital to visit the ailing leader.

Do you know Mahmoud Othman? Perhaps you could phone him :D

There are About 935 results online so it is very hard to find out what is happening :(

But all the same France 24 called me again and asked me to dictate by phone all his life for a necrology. They are in hurry to burry him…

Talabani is the MOST trusted, respect and LOVED of all the Kurdish leaders, and you are right he was the only person who managed to calm things down, this is NOT good.

Let us ALL hope and pray that Talabani will make a full recovery soon.

Talabani is a traitor, I accuse him of corruption, I accuse him of stealing and I accuse him of betraying the Kurds and Kurdistan. What is he doing in Baghdad anyway for all these years? He should be in Hawler or any other city in Kurdistan helping the Kurdish people, not the Arab people! Both Talabani and Barzani have ignored the Feili Kurds in Baghdad, they are living in poverty.

I blame him (and Barzani) for the death of thousands (millions indirectly) of Kurds. He allied with Iran, another enemy of Kurdistan. And this is also one of the few things I blame the PKK for, for helping the PUK. Barzani did no better and allied with Turkey and Saddam.

They have invited the enemies of Kurdistan into our land!

Journalists have reported that the schools and hospitals of Kurdistan are like those of Africa!!!! What the hell is Barzani or Talabani doing to improve this?

They are only war commanders, they have made so many promises to the Kurds and what have they given? Look at the Kurds in Baghdad and other areas of Southern Iraq, most of the Kurds there are poor!

The only thing they have achieved though, is creating a strong military. Not to defend the Kurds, but to guard Talabani and Barzani. I take the Kurdish protests about a year ago for example, wtf were they thinking of opening live ammunitions on people?

We need a new party, one that stands for the Kurds and Kurdistan!

Many of you will disagree with me, some will agree with me. But I am just trying to make you aware. My vote goes for the future Kurd that stands to defend and serve his nation, the Kurdish nation. Not Kurds that own huge business empires and money that just sit in their vaults doing nothing. USE THAT MONEY FFS!
