Kirkuk: political parties headquarters increases violence

“The headquarters of the political parties have led to an increase in violence”

Najmadin Karim, the governor of Kirkuk has claimed that the presence of the headquarters and offices of the different political parties inside the city is one of the factors that increases violence, and demands that the offices be relocated to outside of the city.

Najamdin Karim told the SNN website during an interview “The high number of headquarters and offices is a factor contributing to the increased violence in the city, as those locations are usually targets of the terrorists.”

“All the political parties, above them all the PUK and KDP which have the largest number of offices and branches, should consider their numbers, and try to decrease them inside the city,” he added.

Najmadin Karim criticized the fact that there are two different security forces each affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, saying “The security forces can perform important duties, provided that they receive orders from one source, and despite the claims of unity of the security forces, as the truth is that it is just headlines and it is not applied in real life.”
