As you could notice, the funny thing is that some posters celebrate Newroz 2625 and others 2713. Why ? Because there are 2 different start of 'Kurdish era' : 700 B.C when was founded the first Medes' Kingdom and 612 B.C, when Ninawa, the Assyrian Capital fall under the assaults of Medes and then was founded the Mede Empire.

KRG obviously has chosen the -700 's (perhaps for not offending Assyrian Christians ?) :-D

Western Kurds rather -612 because the fallen of Assyrian King commemorates the end of a tyrant (and in Firdousi 's Shahnameh, Zohak is an Arab).

What do you rather ? Personnaly, I think that - 612 is more logical according to the legend, but in any case, it is fiction.

That is also what I think. The date of the foundation of the Median Empire is not suitable for the Newroz myth which is about the victory of the blacksmith Kawa a Kurd against the tyrannical King Zuhak a Assyrian.

Thats why Newroz 2713 is the correct choice.
