ok, that's weird. :-D Once I saw and tasted beet chips : they had the colour of a red cabbages, and a strange sweet flavour.

No those are what we call crisps - thin wafers of generally potatoes but often other root vegetables:

Chips are what we call rather chunky long pieces of potato that we generally deep fried as in the traditional English dish of Fish and Chips):

Oh I see, it is what we call 'frites' while we say 'chips' for your crisps.

Oh guess what!!! this reminded me the year of liberation of Iraq, year 2003. Because France opposed liberation of Iraq, we changed the name of 'French Fries' to 'Free Fries'.

I remember that

but in fact French people laughed because we know that frites are not is French, but the national meal in Belgium (where you can eat the tastiest 'frites'). Well I am not sure that George Bush knew really where was Belgium and that is not a French province…

The worst was when an American senator poured in the street a great (and expensive) French wine. That was a sacrilege X( At least he could have given it to a poor homeless.

That's why I found weird your frozen carrot chipes : to freeze what you call crisps :-D

But it did NOT trick me :ymdevil:

The map was created by Clinic Compare and shows how high the percentage of obese people in a country.

One-third of Americans is therefore morbidly fat, just a quarter of Britons.

But there are surprises: So that 33 percent of Saudis are overweight, as 32 percent of Mexicans and 30 percent of Argentines.

Even worse is the situation in the Pacific Islands: Here half of the population is considered obese.

Am I right?

Mail Online

How fat is YOUR country - and which nations have the highest obesity rates? These new maps may surprise you...
By Madlen Davies for MailOnline

The Pacific Islands, east of Australia, top the list of countries with the highest percentage of their populations obese
Experts have blamed the soaring obesity rates on nations colonising the islands and introducing Western diets
British, American and French colonisers tried to 'civilise' the nations' eating habits after the Second World War
Their fishing and farming industries died out and the countries became reliant on foreign imports like rice and sugar
Scale shows epidemic of fatness, with high levels of obesity across most of Europe, the Middle East and the U.S.

You might think the U.S. is the most obese nation in the world - but if you do, you are wrong.

Soaring rates of obesity in the Pacific Islands, nations in the South Pacific Ocean east of Australia and Fiji, have shot to the top of the worldwide obesity scale.

Previously it has been theorised that Pacific Islanders are genetically predisposed to obesity.

But experts now say the introduction of Western diets to the islands are to blame for the problem.

American Samoa, found south of Samoa, tops the chart, with 75 per cent of the population reported as obese.

Before, these populations ate essentially fish or meat, no wheat, no sugar, fat and animal proteins. And they were healthy.

Concerning Saudi I am not surprised : they drink many soft soda, eat a lot, and hardly walk on their feet. Sadly, Kurds could be like that in South, they are inclined to adopt the middle easterner diet.

But why Spain has more obese people than France or Italia, I don't know.

Interesting, the unhappiest nations are UAI, the richest country, and USA, the most competitive and rich nation. These two nations have every thing and can get any thing they want. The reason they are not happy because they want more but can not get it easily. So they are greedy  and a greedy people never feel happiness and self-comfort.

I am surprised by USA if we consider their 'positive-thinking' philosophy… and by France which seems happier than America, though French have a solid (and relevent) reputation of sceptical, sarcastic and grumpy mood.

Only sin there really is is GREED

Look at this country

We have social welfare for everyone

Nobody starves - nobody here is dirt poor

Those who are homeless are seldom so unless they have drink - drugs - violence problems

Yet still people want more

They want what they see on TV and many are prepared to steal to get it - heck they will even steal a TV

That is the human nature, it is a survival instinct. They are greedy and never satisfied, something, which is good. It is this greed, which has created modern economy that benefits every one.

Those we in the so-called civilised world refer to as 'primitive cultures' often share with each other and work with each other to provide for their entire village

Fishermen and huntsmen will return home with their catch and share it with others who have not been on the hunt

We in the UK used to be much more caring and charity minded 20 years ago than we are today

20 years ago I ran a charity shop for a well-known charity - non of use were paid we just though it the right thing to do - work in a charity shop and go to charity fund raising coffee mornings

My shop had a rota of 40 volunteers - we could have had hundreds but I could not fit anymore in

Now in UK very few people help charities - the charity shops pay their staff and also have people sent to them for work experience

Directors of charities earn far too much money and in UK a great many fraudulent charities are being set up to raise money for refugees - almost without exception those charities are sending money to Islamic militants

I know that because I discussed with friends raising money for a hospital in Kobani and found out about all the scams

Luckily I did not mention this to a certain surgeon it would have raised his hopes up - it is almost impossible to start such a charity in UK - SORRY if you read this - you know who you are we did try NEVER give up :x
