wedding halls in erbil

PostAuthor: Akam » Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:15 pm

Hi everyone

For all those who live in Hawler/Erbil or those who know the area, i would like to know the different wedding halls available

Looking for a hall which offers a place that separates women and men. But i will take all the names and contact them depending on the circumstances.
It would be great if you could state the name, location and contacts.

I thank you all in advance

Sheraton plaza wedding venue is located just next to sheraton hotel, it's nice and good place for conducting a wedding party, the hall is fully equiped with AC tools and table and chairs, friendly environment and very nice stage for dancing, you will enjoy it im sure

@Piling I am glad you said that before I did, because I was thinking exactly the same thing :ymdevil:

Some people on here have said that I hate Kurdish men - NOT true - but some of the lovely Kurdish ladies who I know. HATE the way the men treat them - the people have to learn to mix and a wedding celebration is for the entire family

If the sexes are divided how do they even manage to conduct a wedding - does the Imam keep running between rooms :o)

I am absolutely DELIGHTED to know that, thank you talsor :ymapplause:

I would HATE the thought of any social division between the sexes

Except in Mosques. I was once taken through a Mosque when men were preparing for prayer and a lot of men were washing their dirty feet, it was not a pretty sight nor one that ladies would wish to witness :ymdevil:

Is it forbidden that men and women are separated in the wedding?

It is their right to decide.

Of course it is their right to adopt Arab-islamic behaviors. But I think it is a loss for Kurdish life and traditions. When you read Mehmûd Beyazîdî's book (Edetên Kurdan) you could see how, in a funny way, Kurds were more liberated and free to dance and had fun each others (girls and boys) than now.

And indeed, wedding can be the finest or the most annoying event, but the vision of these packs of women dancing each others and in another room, packs of men doing the same, has something sinister… (-|

Thank you all for your replies

I am not here to talk about religion, culture etc etc

My way of a wedding would be a mixed halparke till the next morning but some things cant be chosen. it comes down to the family

P.s. Its not for me anyway

Does anyone have good idea about wedding dress design? Many unique designs can be kept for this.

Hey Akam, you can ask your wedding venue manager to arrange separation for women and men. Probably, it would not be a big deal to deny for manager. In New York, it happens when New York wedding venue managers allow this separation for religion reasons. :) Good luck.
