Because people talk - and I have family in Turkey... She could be one of those second generation Kurds in Turkey - you know - her parent's moved to Turkey and then she was born into Turkishness...

Despite all she has said... I will not blame only her for her stupidity... I will blame the Turkish state - because they are the reason why Kurds in North Kurdistan aren't as PROUD of being Kurdish as they are of being able to speak Turkish - Kurds who don't speak Turkish in Turkey - are considered DUMB and STUPID... So it is the Turkish state we must blame for our situation in North Kurdistan...

I met several times girl like that, saying "my parents WERE kurds, but I'm not, now we are turks, kurds are terrorists

As you say it is turkey's responsability. When you go to school in Istanbul, you can't say "I'm kurdish" or even fee like one, otherwise you are rejected. I think intelligent people "rediscover" their true identity when they grow up. Some other think that what they learnt at school is the only truth...

Yes officialy Turks and Kurds are "all brothers". They can't hate eachother because they are not different, all citizens of turkey. They are equals, and no one has more rights than one other. So Kurds can have cultural rights, because it would make them different, and create inegality.

THIS is Kemalism. You can be very nice, whish peace and brotherhood, and say that to fullfil that Kurdish language must disappear.

I spent to much time in Turkey
