Blog Comments: I lost my temper...need advice

PostAuthor: Emmunah » Wed May 18, 2005 7:59 pm

I'm angry. I have a terrible temper! So if this is the "shout room" then that's why I'm here. I need advice about this, or actually, maybe just some wisdom...anyone have any to spare?

See...I have a blog that is about Peshmerga women, women of all religions succeeding, Jews, Kurds, and our age old relationship, and everything I have learned about economic development and politics to help KURDS! So, this anonymous person comes to my blog and he lives in Canada somewhere. He will simply NOT stop trying to get me into the whole Palestinian/Israel debate. THAT'S NOT WHAT MY BLOG IS ABOUT!!! I do NOT control the Israel government!!!!!!!!! This happens all the time and I hate it. I do not mind a little bit of it, comments here and there, no problem...but the relentless imposition of this endless argument that always leads everyone in circles drives me NUTS!! What can I do about it? I a Jewish, and those are my people, many of them relatives...but that does NOT mean that I think they are all saints or that there isn't wrong on both sides. I just do not want to have my blog hijacked for that argument. Does that make sense?

So, if this guy comes and makes these long comments, then I feel like I have to respond, otherwise his "facts" go unchecked. If I delete the comments I feel like I'm censoring someone. But when does a person say enough is enough? When do you say, "You obviously do not want Kurds and Jews to be friends. You obviously want to force your arguments on me on my own blog. You obviously are here to steer the debate to a topic *I* do not want to debate wtih you"....and just delete the idiots comments? Some part of me feels guilty, and some part of me feels like I'm doing the most rational thing.

Most of you have blogs right? So, let's say some anti-Kurdish person comes to your personal blog (not forum, not group blog) and starts posting anti-Kurdish stuff? How long do you accept it? Have you ever just deleted the comments?

I'm so angry right now I just can't think straight. I'm trying to heal the world and build bridges and some people just have to come and try to burn them as fast as I can build them! "SSSCCCRRREEAAAMMMM"!!!

Dear emmunah, I am as angrey as you , how this arab, dared to attack to your blog, as it isnt a place to spit his hate?

I think we -KBU members-must go to your blog and answer him.... and tell him go and blow himself up somwhere else...we have seen enough from these assholes...

and a recommendation , dont delete his comments, that will make him to do comment over and over, Just Ignore him and leave it for me and your other friends to answer him.

so I invite everybody to come here

and donate a kick , to this ant-kurd- anti jew , arab.

(be polite to him - just make him feel his so stupid.-)
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then YOU WIN !

No, it's okay. I calmed down. But, thank you so much. I just decided to edit my own blog and stop feeling guilty about doing it. I deleted the Canadian's comments. I would not mind talking to an Arab, or a Palestinian, but I just hate these upper middle class western intellectuals who have NEVER been close to losing their lives, or risked anything, or gotten on a bus that might be blown up, or counseled people who had arms and limbs blown off, burned by terrorists bombings, or tried to live in a place where the people next door to you are brainwashed from birth to be Shahid and Kill babies, pregnant women, and old people. If they lived in danger, or they were actually harmed, I would respect them, and listen to them, but they sit in their houses, drive their fancy cars and go to anti-war/anti-occupation rallies in support of a regime that would KILL THEM IMMEDIATELY after the "revolution" just like in Iran and just like after the Bolshevik revolution.

Anyway, rollar and sorgul are right, none of that has anything to do with my blog, and since he is 'anonymous" I can't go give him hell in return either. My advice to him was to get a blog, and offer Kurds his own vision if he has one....hey...he might have a better idea than I do...I don't have all the answers, but he won't do that.

I know this, he's not an Arab or a Muslim, because I've NEVER spoken to anyone from the middle east that was so clueless...he doesn't even rank up there with Arabs in his knowledge, just some stuff he picked up on some anti-everything site. He's the kind of guy that doesn't want Iraq/Kurds or Israel to succeed because somehow, that's "imperialism" and so he would rather have eternal dictators and eternal poverty, rather than save anything or anyone because that might involve "force" and big power should never use their power against the litte power like Ba'athists! because that's white men oppressing the darker skinned people of the world.

Get this, he thinks the Palestinians do not deserve a state (huh?), and neither do Kurds, and the world should not have nations. I agree in some ways...like when we have a more perfect world that is, so I said, "fine, then let the Western secure nations open up their whole countries to everyone who wants to come there, no borders, no nationality, no restrictions ect...and when THEY do it, then Kurds can talk about that, but when the people next door want to kill your people...every last one of them...you need this thing called a border! WHAT AN IDIOT!

I guess I'm still mad huh  ...oh well...better to shout here than shout at him because that's exactly what he wants....and I'm not giving it to him! He must crave attention or something.

Hey there,

You know what? I'm also beginning to believe what you say about Americans brains! Some of them visit Kurdish blogs and if they find anything, and I mean, anything critical of the US, they act like everyone is anti-american! They get all freaked out because they think everyone should be giving them all praises...and they don't seem to notice that most of what is written IS praise, instead they focus on the one or two anti-american comments and whine! That is so weird for a country that says they prize the right to freedom of speech isn't it? You would think they could take a little critisicm, since they have done a lot of things wrong....but they seem blind to all that huh?

Of course, no one like to face the bad history of their country, or the things they did in the past, and some things that still are not right. But don't they ask Kurds to think of the things that are wrong with Kurds too? Yes, they do. I say it's rather hypocritical of them to act that way.

So...I'm not the American government, not the Kurdish government, and not the Israeli government....and I am most certainly critical of all governments. I am also critical of individuals in each of these places that think they are perfect.

My conclusion: We ALL have our "rednecks"...we just call them different things in different countries! Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house and we all live in glass houses, some of them just never notice what's outside their glass windows eh?

I don't think 50 cent invented that.
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

50 cent's lyrics aren't the best in the hiphop world.. .. really.. You got to expand your horizon..
But's lets keep it on topic.
