I like Zakarîa's music - but not this particular song so much... Not enough to highlight it anyway...

Samira Said - I only have a few of her songs - and that song which is in the list is not so special...

Remember - I highlighted the SONGS which I like - not the ARTISTS...

I like Celine Dions music, Madonna, some of Bayhans songs etc. - but not the ones in the list! :wink:

that happen a while back. did not ahmet kaya perform infront of pkk poster? also he supported öcalan and insult türkiye too. ahmet kaya has been dead so let him rest in peace...

PKK poster???

This is what happened:

At a Turkish Music Award show - Ahmet Kaya won an award - and in his speech, he said that he is Kurdish and that he therefore will start singing in Kurdish...

And this is when many of the facist Turkish artists threw forks and spoons at him - things that were on their tables...

What the hell do you mean by "insulted" Turkey?

What the hell do you mean by "insulted" Turkey?

this is what happened. yes he won a award. he was named musician of the year, then he said in his speech that he want to produce music in his language kurdish. he also said he recorded a kurdish song kerwan and wanted to produce video to it too so then some musicians there threw stuff at him cause of what he said seem separatist...
later he went in exile to france cause of charges of crimes against him from his separatist political views. i hear that he performed infront of pkk poster in koncert in germany in early 90s, also that he said things in support of öcalan and said insult about türkiye that she is 'dishonourable peoples country'. he was sentenced but did not do time cause he was in france and died soon after...

So you see, what you said about the posters and swearing at Turkey (probably just rumours and slander) - has nothing to do with the award show...

People threw things at him just because he said he wanted to produce Kurdish music... SO? See, they were some facist idiots who did that... Turkey will never be part of the EU with such mentality... People in Europe are allowed to swear at their countries as much as they like - and at their kings, presidents and prime ministers... But in Turkey - people throw things at you if you say "I want to produce Kurdish music"!!! :shock:
