Helping refugees and studying the bible are two different things. And I am not Kurdish... for your information..
What an intelligent man you are, to be able to differenciate between the two!! I'm in awe!! For your information, I know you're not Kurdish, and I see no relevance of that fact, to my post. I was merely trying to establish if you made a distinction between what you deem a waste of time, and other activites. Of course you have a right to TELL others that their time has been wasted, but it hardly puts you in a good light, as to having a fair, or indeed, unbiased, so called opinion, does it? Is that your usual way of interacting with people, especially how you know nothing about their lives ie: You tell them how they have wasted their time? Personally, I wouldn't dream of telling someone they have wasted their time, especially when I know neither nothing (or very little) about them, nor the topic I were critisising, but then, we're all different, aren't we? :)

we have been pushed into islam.
we believe in love strongly and only with one woman. we believe that a woman has the equal powers as men. it is islam who belives in killing new born females because they are not male.
they also marry as many times as they want.
if you call your self muslim you must live by these rules.
i am not brainwashed by western world. i have freedom of speech.
and this enables me to explore the real islam.

Freedom of speech over powers any religions. Its beautiful the way Muslims try to protect their religion by breaking Islamic rules and lying.
I haven’t met one Muslim or any other religious person who truly believes in peace.
It’s impossible to accept other religion when your prophet is telling you others will go to hell.
Religion divides us in every level.
We are humans and share the same pulse and we should live in harmony.

let me know if you don't understand

[quote="Belingaz"]Thank you Amanc for bringing us back to the matter of marriage in Islam. Although I really love the debate between AlbaSaab and Piling regarding the Bible and Quran respectively, I for one would love to see what both you think on this matter?
AlbaSaab...Maybe you can tell us a little about the Mormons in America and their beliefs..I realize a lot would not call them Christains and I personally do not know what to call them, but as of recently we keep hearning that they are and as you can see where i am heading with this....they like muslims..they have multiple wives......as I am looking towards you as my Western Specialist now. I would greatly appreciate any knowledge you have on the subject matter. Thank you ahead of time...
and Piling bira please tell us more about Muslims and the issue of marriage. I believe that UmmAli was heading towards the right area and telling us ,according to shiria ... wjat islamic constitutional marriage law allowed and did not allow but I am not seeing more.
I can honestly say that the three of you have great knowledge of these two respective religions and want to see you all three think of these issues.
thank you all for sharing your ideas and knowledge with us, indeed by sharing your knowledge with us, you are all sharing a piece of yourself and your being with us....it is very hard to do this because many of us are afraid of being critized...myself first. yes even the computer screen blazing back at me can cause a lot of damage...not really just kidding...[/quote

To be honest, you probably know as much as I do about the Mormons. We have them here too, and in fact, my son's friend was brought up as one, but left the faith.

Hello there AlbaSaab...thanks for your reply
actually I do not know anything about the Mormon belief and communities...I just know that they have multiple wives like Muslims, though I am not sure to what degree or under what circumstances..... From time to time we see them on the news for something or another.
I just do not understand how under the Christain name, if they are.....they can marry so many women?
The reason I asked you out of everyone else, is not because I am singling you out, but because I read earlier that you had studied the Holy Bible for over 25 years... and I believe that is something very respectable and you would be more than qualified to have the sophisticated answers I am seeking....
of course, if you so choose to,,,you do not have to answer. In any case, thanks for your time and good day....

Hi. Well, Mormons claim to be Christains, the same as "Christians" claim to be Christians. They say they believe in the Bible, but have somehow "discovered" sacred texts written on gloden plates, which were apparently revealed to several "prophets". They also believe in the King James version of the Bible; why specifically the KJV, I have no idea, but their Book of Mormon, contradicts the Bible. So, as far as I know, they rely on their "revelations" from "prophets" to justify their polygamy. From what I know about their beliefs, it seems very mixed up. There is quite a lot of controversy surrounding the validity of their beliefs, and everything related to it. Unfortunately, that's about all I know about it. I hope it helps.

The Qur'an says that a man can have more wifes when his wife(s) is/are ill, when they can't take care of the children. They can only marry another woman when the first wife agrees with that. And both wifes sould be loved by him equally.
And everybody knows that doesn't happen always!
Men are just too greedy.

How digusting it must be for al those women who share their husband. If he is with one wife, what must the other think?

I know you are asking Xoşewîst...

But I just have to reply! :P

No - the Prophet is an exception... Because he had more than four wives... And he could do so because he was the chosen one - the one set to bring Islam to us and be a medium for God to speak through...

And like Xoşewîst mentioned - he has to love both women equally (impossible to do)...

Anyway... I don't take all this too seriously... But one thing is sure: a man should only have ONE wife... Just like a woman only should have ONE husband...

I am one of those who say: the Quran doesn't ALLOW us to have four wives - but I believe it simply tells a story - about a time when there was war and women were made to widows, and so they were left without life-support since their husbands were there no longer to take care of their economical and material needs... So as the story goes - the Prophet allowed for men to take these widows as their second, third etc. wives to save them from poverty and ending homeless... Back then - all power was at the hands of men...

I believe those verses in the Quran - and those alike - should only be seen as historical events... Not as "guidance" in the present - like some people like to think of it... And thus they "justify" their marriage with not only two but four wives...

Tragic...

Dear Sarah,

I think you'll find that Islam was the first monotheistic religion to limit the number of wives a man could have. This does not mean that men can go around marrying whoever and whenever. I personally think that one husband is more than enough for me, and being a typical hardcore Kurdish woman, I strongly doubt my husband to be (whoever he is!) will be able to handle anything more....

like i said before, it is what the quran says, and it doesn't always happen in reality.

That's just bullsh*t. he must be the rolemodel for every muslim. people think, if he can do it, well i can do i too.

Does islam really say that it is because he is the chosen one? that would be just weird!!
