Travel from Iraq to Syria

I am going to travel to Syria to meet somebody who comes from South Kurdistan Iraq, how easy is it for somebody to travel to Syria from Iraq as I am a bit worried in case for some reason they dont let my friend from Iraq over the border.

Depends on which border your friends takes. As a Kurd I would never choose "Rabiaa". There is also a Syrian-Sothern Kurdistan border "Pêshabîr". I don't know if it is open now. But coming from Kurdistan that would be better. There are no problems at the kurdish border, if it's open. as i said i dont know for sure now. but the arabic border is indeed dangerous for kurds.
What if tomorrow never comes and you don't know how I feel?
