Peshewa Qazi Mohammad or Mullah Mostefa Barzani ?

one of them an educated character , the other a Warrior .
one of them was martyned , and the other fleed to russia ?
who would u like to have as Father of Kurds and Kurdish nationalisim?

I don't believe in "father of Kurds"... That is in my oppinion, a way of belitteling ourselves to the level of the Turks... Whom have their "Atatürk" ("Father of the Turks")...

So I vote neither...

The mother of the Kurds would be the Hurrians - and the father would be the Medians...

Their marriage resulted in the Kurdish people...

None of them and fortunately : if a nation has a "father" it becomes soon "orphan". Kurds had lot of leaders, fortunately.

Turks had their "father", and he died, it could explain why psychologically they are so upset.

I think it was the feeling of belonging to a Kurdish identity that helped Kurds to resist all the chauvunistic policies of enemies.

We can reverse the idea also : Qazi Mohammad or Barzani existed because there was a Kurdish nationalism at their time. A national feeling needs leaders and claims for raising, but leaders need to be supported by their people's aspirations. A kind of interlacing effect, I guess...

so you belive the nationalism by Xoy bun in Bakur had effected Kurds of Rojhelat and south ?
mind that we hardly seen any connection between northern and eastern/southern kurds , because of geography and language diffrence...

do you think Qazi mohammad (and generally JK party which later renamed to Democrat PArty) was aspired by Xoy Bun of Bakur ...had they heared about Bakur's movements and their aims ?

I don't think we can point to a specific time or place when Kurdish nationalism was born... Or when it was showcased for the first time... There will always be sources unknown to us - like lost litterature, happenings which were not recorded in history etc.

Ehmedê Xanî wrote some of the most nationalist Kurdish litterature in his time - and maybe more than anybody else before him? Who knows... Personally I will not make a judgement on that, because I don't think it would be fair to other unrecorded events...

There is no definite point of birth for Kurdish nationalism - it has developed from the simple "otherness" of the Kurds... Making them identify themselves as "Kurds" and not only "Muslim", "Êzidî" or "Jew"...

We shouldn't belittle our national movement, by crediting one single person for it...

The Xoybûn and Ihsan Nuri Pasha who led the revolt of Ararat were quite famous, and still in activity until 1945. As the Mahabad movmeent came from the Komala, a group of intellectuals, I suppose they knew the events very well. They had in common to be supported by Sovietic Union, also.

But did the Khoybûn had real contacts with Mahabad Republic ? I am not sure. Khoybûn after 1930 were a group of intellectuals and politicians, far from the battlefield, living in Syria or in other exile lands. I did not hear of former Xoybûn members who joined Mahabad.

The one who could have played a role was Ihsan Nurî Pasha who fled in Tehran after the revolt of Ararat. But he was quite controlled by Iranian governement. Though Ismet Sherif Vanly said that Ihsan Nuri Pasha would have offered his help to Qazi Muhammad in 1946, and later to Mustafa Barzani, but both did ignore him (in the presentation of Ihsan Nuri 's book about Revolt). Probably the alliance with Barzanis was more interesting and effient for the people of Mahabad, for Barzani brought a real and strong military support with his peshmergas and his own tactician talent.

does nuri pasha has a book ? in kirmancy ?
