wondering if anybody could help me, me and my bf plan to get engaged during the summer, but coming from 2 different backgrounds i havnt a clue what goes on when kurdish get engaged!!
is it a gold band for both men/women or just one diamond for the girl...any help would be appreciated so i have a bit of back ground knowledge and dont look to much of a fool haha

You see it depends where he is from... If he's from east of Amed (Diyarbakir) then they have Desteser = The girl gets some gold or ring or something - in older times, it could be a shall or something else nice she could wear!

BUT - BIG chances are: You'll put on a ring, and he'll put on a ring! And voilà you are engaged...
