Marrying somebody else

PostAuthor: sarah » Sun Mar 18, 2007 3:48 pm

Just after some advice, my so called Kurdish boyfriend has told me that he is getting married to somebody back home. He has got residency to stay in the UK and he says he will bring her here but eventually he wants to go back home to live, can he do that will they allow that to happen.
Also I am finding this so difficult to deal with I am devasted that he has done this to me. Have any others gone through this kind of situation before where their so called boyfriend is going to get married to somebody else.

I'm confused, I thought your boyfriend had already gone back and married a Kurdish girl... or is this a different guy?

Anyway, for sure he can be married back home and bring his wife here, why not?

I know lots of Kurdish guys (and a few girls) with residency that have returned home to be married and brought their wives/husbands back to the UK.

I don't know any who have outright lied to their English girlfriends though, most have made their intentions clear from the start... if yours didn't, then you're better off without him, don't you think?

7 months after my Kurdish boyfriend went back home I met another guy who I have been seeing for 6 months and he has just decided to tell me now that he is getting married. This is twice I have had my heart broken, and I am finding it so difficult to deal with.

I am sensing you don't learn from your earlier mistakes...

Try to:

1) make your own intentions cleared up from the start - as soon as you sense some sort of mutual, two-sided effort at "love"...

2) make him confess his true intentions from the start... Let him know that you are not a pillow free for people to lay their heads on anytime...

3) Try to read between the lines... Look for signs - his words are not enough...

Im sorry to hear that.
In addition to what Diri said: If he doesnt introduce you to his family within a month or 3, you should make the right conclusion...
