I like Chopî, Zekeriya, Rojîn, Aynûr, Kardêsh Turkuler - and I like Shiwan Perwer----> A national singer! :)

And I like our newly "returned" Kurdish singers - Ibrahim Tatlises and Mahsum Kirmizigül...

And I also like the Kurdish singers that don't say they are Kurdish... But come on - we know they are... How can you be from Mardîn and NOT be Kurdish

Come on - Don't be mean to me...

I am talking about those that don't look like Arabs... It is very easy to make out the difference between an Arab and a Kurd - Especially the Northern Kurds from Arabs...

But that said - The Arabs aren't native to Mardîn - they moved there not too long ago...

Perhaps I should name a person just to get you off my back

Berdan Mardînî... He doesn't "say" that he is Kurdish... But we know it... I have his CD's and well - all he sings about is "Mardin Kapisi" , "Diyarbekir Shad Akar" etc...

please which non-kurd would sing about diyarbakir(amed) and mardin-KURDISH CITIES. i recently found out that all of the so called 'turks' at my brothers school are actually kurmanj. its a pity that they feel ''ashamed'' to admit that they are kurdish.
very sad :(

Sad isnt it? Northern Kurdistan is that part of Kurdistan which has been oppressed the most - in terms of cultural and social life... But I can't accept or understand that the Turkish propaganda got to them... They should be smarter than that....

If all Turkey had to do to assimilate Kurds was to draw the TUrkish flag on Kurdish mountains - then I really pitty the Kurds who have subcome to the pressure to be "modern" (as Turkish is portrayed to be) and not backward (as Kurdish is portrayed to be)...

Let's hope that the new "rights" they got in Kurdistan will encourage them to be proud of their heritage... Which has been stolen from them...

You know what anoys me the most??? These dumbass Turks who are in these "halay groups" (Kurdish dance)... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - What a STUPID thing - and the older people who have as they say "been doing it since they were little children" - my a** - what part of Kurdish culture is it that they have not stolen?

Anyway - I will end my anger there and hope you understand...

Pepula - Please tell those Kurmancî that they should be ashamed, not for calling themselves Kurds, but for NOT calling themselves Kurds...

welcome to the club, and u know hat , sometimes for elevating their standard they say that they are half turkish.. haha. Poor brain washed and assimilated nation.
But I think everything will be alright in the future, the process has begun.

i can understand them not knowing kurdish but to say that they are turkish??
mean what is so great about calling yourself a turk?? for they are disliked by many and seen as a dirty nation full of pigs. has anyone seen ''the midnight express''
i thought it couldnt just be a coincidence that 'turkish' people knew our kurmanji dances. this is unbelievable! we have a beautiful culture-and because they have a crap one, they steal ours.
i pity those who deny their true identity.
for we are kurdish by blood, we may not have a full chatered country, but we all know that we are far better people than the 'turkish nation' could ever be.

About "Turkish culture"... They didn't have one when they came!

They have been mixing Kurdish culture with Arabic culture... And they are stating it as THEIRS... Have you seen those damn people dancing our dances??? Always these old farts who dance and who have "learned the dance from their father"... YEAH RIGHT - Was his father a Kurd perhaps???!!!

Look at this SHAMELESS act - Kurdish clothes and TWO ugly Turkish flags :?

Geee--- And THIS is what they call "Ottoman Turkish national costume"... MY A** - it is KURDISH!
