Heart attack (he was very fat, it could be a factor of his heart disease).

Yeah... He was exiled - because he wanted to sing in Kurdish... And then he died all of a sudden... Some claim Turkey poisoned him or something...

Sure he ran away to france after he has stated that he was Kurd, and wanted to sing in Kurdish too, etc.

And now he is buried in the cemetery le Père Lachaise (a very smart and old cemetery with many personnalities) in Paris, not far from Ghassemlu and Sharafkandi and Yilmaz Güney's graves. In fact it is a Kurdish VIP cemetery too !

1-for pepula who is ahmad kaya ?
2-for piling who is Yilmaz Güney'?

france has a qulification , everybody who runs away from his own country to france, usualy dies in strees or is killed.

like many of the former iranian shah's cabinet , who died in france just after they runned away to there.

Hey Ghassemlu and Sharafkandi were not killed by Iranian services in France :o but the first in Vienna and the second in Berlin. They did not live in France I think. They have just solemn funerals in France, with many personnalities (not only Kurds).

BTW their murdering is sad but everybody thought that they were so naive to believe Iranian promises and went to negociate with their services, without any bodyguards nor guarantees... The worst is that after it happened to Ghassemlu, his successor, Sharafkandi made the same mistake, and accepted to meet Iranians in a restaurant, and was killed in the same way ](*,) ... And now the PDKI is nothing, though it has a great audience in Europa before...

Ahmet Kaya was a Kurdish singer who was very popular in Turkey... until he claimed to be a Kurd and wanted to sing in Kurdish. Then he faced a nationalist campaign in Turkey and fled.

Yilmaz Güney a Kurdish cineast in Turkey. He has had the greatest award in Cannes for "Yol". He has been imprisonned in Turkey (it was during the military outsch), then went to exile in France. He was one of the foundator of the Kurdish Institute. He died of a cander.

I used to know Yilmaz Güney , and the movie , but his name is so hard to remember for me [it looks like an africian name for me ]
