i'm not a pro, but i'm learning it all mainly as a server :D , as i said before, i'm just starting to like linux, i used to hate it at the very beginning :? so, i wanna change my OH to Fedora Core :D

I've a lot of interests... I love programming. C, C++ & Assembly are my favourite. I love to read about computer security issues. I also like 3D graphics. I haven't accomplished much, but I keep reading about those things. I love Electronics, I do lots of reading regarding that as well. I love Heavy Metal music. And finally I'm trying to learn German all by myself, which makes me laugh at myself often. LOL.

i love c++,
by the way, i'm gonna be the best programmer ever in few years *high five*

Well you are a Kurd in my eyes...

Diri>> Thanks alot, my friend. :D

missIndependent>> You're studying linux. Most likely you're going to be better than me in no time. By the way, you're on the right track of a good career. I know a good reference called 'Thinking in C++'. It's downloadable in PDF format. You can find it at http://www.planetpdf.com & http://www.bruceeckel.com

It's an amazing book. You should try it out sometime.

i'm not realy familier with SUSE9.1 pro, but one of my teachers was talking bout the newer version called SUSE Linux10.0 Home to install, thats all i can remember now

i dont like graphics much, nor networking, software development and sometimes web pages more make me interested, but anyways, i'm still doing general programing, started with C, C++, VB.NET, HTML, next term JAVA script, n some more.

SuSE

PostAuthor: r00t » Thu May 11, 2006 7:02 am

I have SuSE 10.0 as well, but I use SuSE 9.1. Because the gcc(gnu C Compiler) of SuSE 10.0 is in beta development phases. It's kinda annoying, becasue you can't install packags from source code. You also have to expect all kinds of twisted errors and warnings it usually generates. otherwise, SuSE 10.0 looks very fancy and so very colorful.

Ubuntu is great for Laptops. But SuSE is very huge with lots of applications. You should give it a shot. By the way, it's RPM based, not Debian like Ubuntu.

Absolutely

PostAuthor: r00t » Thu May 11, 2006 5:33 pm

I've got my SuSE copied from an original package which was shipped to a friend of mine along with his Linux Magazine. I've made my copy of SuSE 10. They actually won't charge you for the software, but otherwise they'd charge you for packaging and the printed manuals. Now there's the SuSE 10 and there is also Open SuSE project. Open SuSE is full of bugs if you ask me. But SuSE 10.0 is normally so great except for its gcc compiler(BETA). And unless you do C/C++ programming, you won't need that very much. Distrowatch now points to a new SuSE release. It's 10.1 with gcc fixed.

Ubuntu is fast, small and amazing when you have fast networking. As for SuSE, a huge bunch of software is already shipped along with the installation CDs/DVDs. Which is more convenient with someone with slow networking.

Unfortunately, I don't speak Kurdish. I know some basics, but far from a fluent speaker of the language. This largely due to the fact that I've spent all of my life in Baghdad.

Don't worry brother... :)

A Kurd is a Kurd at heart...

The language, you can learn... But one cannot learn how to be Kurdish - it is in your heart! ;)

There are some threads on this forum for learning Kurdish - and if you have any questions about phrases or words in Kurdish, feel free to ask!

Thank you for the generous offer, Diri. I'll consider asking you or any other friend on this forum if I don't understand something in Kurdish. :P
