Asterix in Sorani

PostAuthor: raffaeleb » Sun May 18, 2008 9:25 pm

Hi, I'm a new registered user.
I'm Raffaele fromItaly.
I know that my topic seems not so important, but mabe you're the only ones who can help me.
I'm an Asterix collector in foreign languages.
It's been published in 2002 in Sorani language.
Publisher:Suleymanyah, Northern Iraq (bootleg edition)
ئه سته ريکس و جه نگه گه وره که / Esteriks u cenge gewreke
From my country, it's obviously very very hard to find it.
So I hope that someone could find it for me or could suggest me where to find it.
Kind regards, Raffaele

I think this is almost impossible to find...
The suppression of ethnic cultures and minority religious groups in attempting to forge a modern nation were not unique to Turkey but occurred in very similar ways in its European neighbours - Bruinessen.

Okey...

So what IS an "asterix"?

Are we talking about this * * * * * * ???

The stars? Those are known as "Asterix" in English, anyway... But somehow, I don't think that is what you're refering to...? Is this computer-related? If so, I will move this thread to the approriot sub-forum...

Diri, Asterix is as well known in France than Mickey Mouse in USA and Tintin in belgium !

You have more information here :
http://www.asterix-international.de/ast ... rani.shtml

his bootleg edition is based on the English translation. It was printed in 500 copies in Northern Iraq/Iraqi Kurdistan region, in Suleymanyah (under PUK government). Made in 2002 it was not for sale, but distributed for free to government officials (both PUK and KDP), schools, etc. There was a "test release" in black and white (about 15 copies). The definitive edition of 500 copies is in two colours: pages are alternating blue/black and red/black.

So the best thing you have to do is to visit the KRG representation in Italya and ask them if they have a copy or can have one...
Or, as it is in Sulaymanieh, the Office of PUK in your country :
http://www.puknet.it/italiano/

Or directly going to Kurdistan and visit schools in Sulaymaniah... :)

Well - then this is the wrong section to post this thread...

But at least now I know what you're talking about: Asterix and Obelix - the comic series... :)

I've moved this thread to the appropriate section of the forum!

And good luck finding the comic in Kurdish... It's probably out there somewhere! :P
