Note: Sorry, my English is bad, i speak not very well english

Her you can question to me something what i translate it to turkish (only for learning!). The turkish alphabet is no very difference from the kurdish:



You read ı and I as kurdish "i I". And i and İ as kurdish "î Î". "ğ" is a loudless loud. Example: You read değil (meaning "not") as "deil" (without "y"). Other letters are reading as in Kurdish.

The first lection, Her are rectus forms of the pronomes in turkish:

ben = i, sen = you, o = he/she/it, biz = we, siz = you (plural), onlar = they

There is no gender in turkish.

Personal endings of this pronomes:

In Turkish there is no "it" as in English , the suffixes for "be" are as in Kurdish. And there is vocal harmony how you see it in "ben kürdüm".

benim = i am. ben kürdüm = i am kurd. sensin = you are. sen kürtsün = you are kurd. odur = he/she/it is. o kürtdür = he is kurd. biziz = we are. biz kürdüz = we are kurd. sizsiniz = you are. siz kürtsünüz = you are kurd. onlardır = they are. onlar kürttür = they are kurds.

Ok that its for the first. I dont post more, because it is better if you ask me something and i answer it. This makes learning more fun. If you ask how i can translate all if my english is not well. If i dont understand a english sentence i will ask my friends.

My problem is the opposite unfortunately speak some turkish but no kurdish except from set phrases. Somehow kurdish seems a lot harder to learn than turkish

Johny your english seems to be just fine, or better even! May I ask which langual background you come from, after kurdish of course?

Just noticed it says you're from Dersim, that's Tunceli in turkish right? Yani I was wondering about it since my husband is there now, in Nazimiye (sorry i don't know what that is in kurdish).

Hi azade, i speak native turkish, also i can speak German. Both languages (turkish and german) i know perfectly. I learned English in the school since many years a bit. And then i learned Zazaki in the Internet a bit. Yes, im from Dersim what is in turkish "Tunceli". My Father is from the "Ovacik" part, my Mother from Xozat.

Hi, there are four variants. Actually the people ignore by daily speak the personal-suffix at "onlar" and "o".

Example - The most using variant - without personal-ending:

Onlar Kürt = They are kurds.
O Kürt = He is Kurd.

But i want make the lessions simple, therefore i made it regular.

onlar kürttürler = they are kurds - because t
onlar kürtlerdir = they are kurds

This variants are ONLY using if you want describe a thing more direct. The normal variants are:

Onlar Kürttür or Onlar kürt

I'm agree if you mean daily language but i wrote exaples for literaturely its a bit difficult

Kurdish is more related with your own "native" language then you think. Turkish is probable easier, because you have more Turkish speakers in your environment and more options to learn Turkish.

Indeed, Vladimir is correct, Azade...

I don't see why you should find Kurdish (Kurmancî) MORE difficult than Turkish... I find that a bit surprising, in fact... Since Germanic languages are closest to Iranic languages of all Indo-European languages...

As you will find if you study Kurdish dialects: Kurmancî is the easiest to learn. The only thing which non-natives have trouble with is the designation of sex (he/she) for nouns... But that's a minor detail... And in fact, some Kurdish dialects are based on bigger "mistakes" (:lol:) than that... Like Merdînî Kurds saying "Tu delale" ("-e" is the suffix used for third person or "it") not for second person when speaking to him/her...

Here are some words which drop into my head when I think of Norwegian and Kurdish:

Honning = Hingvîn = Honey
Rev = Rivî = Fox
Varg = Werg/Warg (Gur) = Wolf
Jeg/Eg = Ez = I
Legg = Ling = Leg
Stjerne = Stêr = Star
Rett = Rast = Right
Tann = Dan/Didan = Tooth
Mann = Mêr = Man
Måne = Mang = Moon


ETC... Vocabulary-wise the languages are very similar... And when it comes to grammar, the difference would be Kurdish ergativity... Other than that, Scandinavian languages have pretty much the same traits (by large) - just different vocabularies...
