In Balto-Slavic languages there are some interesting word which are similar to Kurdish and other IE languages of west Asia.
Fx. the word for earth in this languages is žemė. In Persian and some Kurdish dialects the word for earth is zamin. In Kurmanji and Sorani dialects it is zevi/zewi, which can be explained by the shift of m>v/w in the mentioned dialects. Other examples of the m>v/w shift is the word for Hi "salam" which is of Arabic origin. So m shifts again to v/w and the kurdified word for salam becomes silav/silaw.
