The Turkic Languages

The Turkic languages constitute a language family of some thirty languages, spoken across a vast area from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean to Siberia and Western China, and are traditionally considered to be part of the proposed Altaic language family

Turkic languages are spoken by some 180 million people as a native language;and the total number of The Turkic language with the greatest number of speakers is Turkish proper, or Anatolian Turkish, the speakers of which account for about 40% of all Turkic speakers.

Subdivisions: Southwestern (Oghuz Turkic) (Turkey,Azerbaijan,iranianAzerbaijani-Afshar,Cyprus,Balkans,Turkmensitan,Iraq Turkmen)

i can understand azeri and turkmenic, they are the same language with turkish.

We understand Azeri Turkish..
you know that , many many Turkish serials and films or other programs brodcats on Azerbaijan TVs in Orginal Turkey Turkish

Please check out the "Introduce Yourself" section of the forum... I've started a Welcome thread for you there! :)


Your map showing "Turkey Turkish" is inaccurate: it says all of northern Iraqi Kurdistan speaks Turkish - which is wrong...

And besides: why do your maps include Kurdish speaking areas? They don't identify as "Turkish"... :wink:

Then your maps are inaccurate in concerns to Turkic speaking people who live in China, Russia, Iran etc. - then those speak "Chinese, Russian and Iranian", not "Turkic"... Because those are the official languages of those areas - since you claim that the Kurdish areas are "Turkish speaking"...

ETHNICALLY, Kurds are not Turkic - even if they do live in Turkey... :wink:
