Does anyone know the meaning to the name "Mirwari"? I am curious.

"Mirwarî" derives from the Farsî version - "Merwarîd" and translates into "Pearl"...

However - the word has no real meaning in Farsî except as a name for persons and "pearl"

I have a theory - Let's look at the word - "Mer" could be the french "mere" for "ocean"...
"Warîd" is like "Wan", "Dar"and "Ban" - it means "belonging to", "from" or "of"... So the to translate it directly it could be: "From the Ocean" (As in a "Pearl")

You are welcome Delal ;)

Oh - I forgot to tell you why my theory is a credible one - In the time of the Shah - Iran had SO good bonds with France... And they were to some seen as allies... The Shah was a very PRO western man - he forbid the use of "Hecab" known as veils... The French language has been a source for Farsî - look at some words - they are identical... Like the word for "Balcony"...

Now - Pearls were exotic to Iran... They had many things, but pearls were not so profiled... So the French word for "ocean" ="mere" (pearls are from ousters in the ocean) was combined with the Farsî term for "from" = "Werîd" (a term which isn't used in daily speech - only as an add-on to words in order to produce a noune)...

AND YOU ARE VERY WELCOME... :D
