good good, but it wasn't a spare wire, it was a wire connected to the audio, very strange.

Well according to the device manager your audio driver isnt installed.

1) If you have bought this pc and have the original sound card cdrom, you should install this cd and your driver will be loaded.

2) If you dont have the audio cd, you must find out what sound card is inside your computer.

2a) Install Everest and check out what it says about audio card.

2b) Open up the pc, watch if you have an external or onboard audio card, if its an external card you can easily find the name of the card, if you have an onboard sound card (card which is part of the large motherboard) its little harder to find the name of it, most on-board cards are Realtek, C-Media, VIA, and SIS... you have to search for it on the motherboard.

3) Google for the name that you found example "realtek ac'97 + driver" , download and install the audio drivers.

good luck

Your welcome :) Im impressed you build your own pc.
I assume your teacher has the driver cdrom belonging to your motherboard then. If it doesnt work somehow, you can still do the points 2a and 3.
