It's a program that allows you to view the entire globe and any city within it using the technology of satellite imagery. It's a really nice and amazing program and can get kind of addicting too. Check out the website and download the program there at this link:

I actually knew that there was such a thing as satellite imagery from google and had even used the program on doza me.org to see kurdish cities; but I thought there was something more to "Google Earth".
