Kassem - "real" Kurds?

In what way? You mean the ones that speak Kurdish? Or the ones that practise Kurdish culture? Or the ones that are conected to ancient Kurdish religions -Yezidi... and such... What is your definition of a "real" Kurd?

Agree with 4o million, probabably closer to 45 now, because of birth rates, and they have been saying 40 million since the early 90's so im sure it changed a little. and 25 million in turkey. As for who is kurdish. If you call yourself a kurd. You can say your a lur, as long as its hypenated to me. such as kurdish-lur. Goran's are defenently kurds, its not that far from Hawramani dialect. Zazaki's, they differentiate themselves, by religion more than anything, so, it goes a little deeper. But in the end, they are still much more kurdish than turkish, especially if they speak zaza.

i would say around 30 million. its hard to get an accurate figure because our enemies are always trying to hide our numbers.

Personally I think there are 50 million... And any number ABOVE that... But sadly many HAVE been subject to assimilation... Especially in Turkey and... Actually hard to say where especially - since many Faily Kurds in Iraq - over a million and Gorani and Zazaki speakers in Iran and Turkey - respectively... So - where ever there is a subculture of Kurds in the middleeast they tend to feel alianated by the majority Kurds... why? Well they should have MUCH more about these minorities on Kurdish TV... and any other chance they get to enhance their connection to Kurds...
