Welcome To Roj Bash Kurdistan

Hello everyone,

New members say a hello here (you can aslo introduce your blog/site here)

Hello everyone,

PostAuthor: paul » Mon Oct 31, 2011 8:01 pm

Hi,

I am from Manchester, England & became interested in Kurdistan after seeing clips from the region on the News many years ago, I am keen on hiking & your Country is one i would love to visit sometime in the future, I think hiking is a miss for now though until the boarders are sorted out, as i don't fancy straying into Iran by accident :D

I follow as much as i can on the political front as well and it annoys me when i hear people talking about Palestine being free, i always have to but in & remind them of Kurdistan, usual reply i get is, where is that? grr!!

Hopefully one day soon you will see Independence,

Viva Kurdistan

Welcome mate.

Kurdistan, with its beautiful and high mountains, is a very suitable place for hiking. But be sure to optimize your condition before you go, especially your leg muscles

Do moutain climbers and jumping sqauts, like 200 or 300 reps a day for like 4 or 5 weeks.

Thank you to all for the welcomes :D

I managed to do the 3 peak challenge in the UK so i presume i should be OK (famous last words), it will be the heat that would take it's toll if anything i would guess. what would be the best time of year for hiking & are there any particular areas you would recommend? nothing too remote, i like to leave early in the mornings and be back before night fall.

Thank you for the tips Kulka & Hello & thanks again for the welcomes from everyone on here, you certainly make people feel welcome :D

I guess it's partially ignorance & naivety when the English go abroad & expect people to speak a little English :? , I'll start to learn some phrases to get by, i have noticed there are more Kurdish Language sites now on the internet than when i first looked a few years ago, back then it was a struggle to find anything.

I will take a look at the places you mentioned later today, just taking the children out shopping now,

Have a great weekend everyone.

Paul
