Should KRG close Yekgirto Islami Kurdistan?

My own opinion is that as long they dont support violence and hate and are not against democracy they should do politic.

They must not close it arbitrarily. But if judiciary investigations proves that they are behind rioters and attacks, it should be. In Zakho, some flyers were spred threatening the owners of alcohol shops. If a party or any NGO is behind that, it should be banned. Islamists have the right to criticize and contest alcohol shops, Chinese massage centers and 'unislamic clothes' (I guess that for them, even traditionnal Kurdish women's clothes are unislamic). But if they plot against freedom and safety of others citizens, they should be arrest and their organization closed. But not without serious and solide elements proving their guiltiness.

i agree keke Pling they should not treat people to be like them.

But if they want 100% Sharia in Kurdistan they should win elections and win referandums so simple must it be.

But in last elections the 3 Islamic parties get 10% so we have 10% in Kurdistan how want a religious state.

But especielly Yekgirto are strong in Hewraman region.

How about we close it before we make the same mistake just as Iran in 1978-9.

These people don't care about Islam, they only care for themselves. You really think if they cared for Islam, they would even be in politics? No, they should help the poor in Kurdistan and they should be in Iran to see what Islam has done for Kurds. Its not an attack on Islam, because most Kurds are muslims yet they vote for PDK etc... more moderate parties.

I am not sure that 10% of people who voted for islamists did for Sharia. There are probably many 'protesting voices' against KDP and PUK for social or economical reasons. Moreover, these religious parties are sometimes obliged to ally with leftist and communist parties for having seats, what is funny.

But since 1992, Islamists failed in elections. Then, they try sometime to impose their ideas in another way. Attacking alcohol shops, entertainment and touristic places is a good way to harm the economy of Kurdistan, btw.

I wouldnt say that its rather going back. the reason why this once even started was corruption mostly from talabanis wife (not talabani himself) and some of Barzanis tribesman who thought they can take taxes (not Barzani himself). But I think this changed.

Good because I'm 100% anti-corruption. No one must think or be able to get away with abusing the system for their own personal gains.

It would make no sense, unless we want to build a dictatorship, in that case ban all party's. I think religion should not be in politics, but in every country there are religious party's. banning them will only make them stronger and make them closer to Iran than they already are.

If they are behind the attacks, they should at least be face some punishment like having to pay the costs for what they have done.

The point is not being a religious party or not. It would be the same for any secular movement. If a party denies democracy and human's rights, and praises violence and intolerance, it would not be allowed to take part in a democracy.

Don't they have democracy now? Yet they commit violence.

By the way I'm not anti-Islamists because I'm anti muslim or no reason.(I'm shia myself) But its the fact that their doing this and have done it to many different countries. Its not the fact I want Kurdistan to be pro-western or be westernized, its the fact we must remove these weak elements amongst our people. Yes your right we should blame ourselves for our mistakes, and not dump it on religon or anyone else. Although Turks, Arabs and Persians have contributed. :D

Just my opinion.
