What do you think of the latest IS John Cantlie video?

I expect it all just part of the propaganda war?

He was right about one thing - there are not any journalists around

I have noticed myself that most of the news reports now are rehashes of Associated Press - Reuters or Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports

It has become extremely difficult to find any genuine information

As for whether or not John Cantlie is actually in Kobani - many reporters are not really where they purport to be - they just put jackets and helmets on and stand in front of a screen

BBC Reporters are some of the few who really do risk life and limb to follow the news - not even sure if there are any of those left in the area - I do not think they were very happy when the Turkish troops fired tear gas into their vehicle

One thing I do know for certain is that I do not know anything for certain X(

Of course there are PYD propaganda and ISIS propaganda, as there are KRG propaganda and ISIS propaganda.

In war time, all news coming from a military spokesman is suspicious, more or less. Some are really fakes, some are slightly distorted.

But journalists are free to make their job among the Kurdish lines or near to the front without fear and not like hostages as with ISIS, which practice brainwashing and torture its prisoners. So we must not consider that a report from Cantlie can be serious. ISIS controlled some parts of Kobanî, but not all, it is easy to watch it with satellites.

Concerning the videos on Kurdish TV, especially from the PKK reporters, well they can be biased but false news are soon corrected by other journals, or civilians from the city.

[quote]

This is one of those rare times when it's OK for you to just throw out the dirty dishes that you are too lazy to wash. It's also permissible to hide from a difficult person, spend money on a supposedly foolish indulgence, eat a bowl of ice cream for breakfast, binge-watch a TV show that provokes six months' worth of emotions in a few hours, and lie in bed for an extra hour fantasizing about sex with a forbidden partner. Don't make any of these things habits, of course. But for now, it's probably healthy to allow them. Halloween costume suggestion: total slacker.

No Kurds would have that strength :))

I don't do it in one day, but step by step. That's good when I stayed unmoved on a chair, to write. 3 hours of such exercise = one year of yoga.

I used to enjoy reading Agatha Christie - and years ago I had a friend who also read Agatha Christie - we used to swap books and decuse ways to murder my ex-boyfriend - it made reading the books so much more fun :ymdevil:

Sadly my ex is still alive and well :(
