I was really SHOCKED that the Swiss eat dogs

I had no idea - I half expected it from the Chinese but not the Swiss :ymsick:

Years ago the health inspectors found cats being served in a Chinese restaurant in Croydon :-o

There were more than 20 dead cats hung up in their cold room ready to be cooked and eaten :ymsick:

I was also surprised but not shocked about Swiss bad food habit. This bad food habit must be very old, which supposed to have been given up by now. But some times old habits don't go away.

I remember on 1978 I was in South Devon. I was reading local paper when I saw a news about Chinese Restaurant discovered by health officials serving cat meat .

I knew that in some regions of Switzerland people eat dogs, not a surprise, but it is only in some places, I think. It shocks us because of our own customs, after all Hindus could disapprove our way to eat cows.

Today, it is a very veggie menu : cabbage and vegetable soup. I love cabbages, I can eat huge portions of it.

You would be horrified when you knew a Hindu custom in Nepal. They have early slaughter festive, during which they hack to death thousands of cows and other animals.

We have our own slaughtering customs, between sheep qurban of Eid, turkeys of Thanksgiving, and all that beasts we are going to devour at christmas and New Year.

Especially our foie gras :p

I think all such animal slaughter is abhorrent :ymsick:

When I think of a festival - I think of a happy celebration - NOT the destruction of thousands of lives - we humans do not deserve this lovely planet we live on

The sheep qurban of Eid is a particularly sick event - some people actually smear the poor animals blood on children X(

All religions that demand the mass slaughter of innocent animals should be

BANNED

My religion demands that every Easter I slaughter and consume a large

CHOCOLATE EGG

During such celebrations, people slaughter many animals in the same time, but they do the same all the year, day by day. So no difference.

I think it is wrong to use religion as a reason to kill animals and as for actually smearing blood over children

that is totally SICK :ymsick:

Obviously my body can not bear sugar. Because of the Fast, I can't eat cheese or butter for breakfast. Then I ate orange jam with my bread. And as each time I eat sugar when I am hungry, I feel nauseated, suddenly tired and still hungry.

Salt never does that for me, salt is my viaticum :-D

Well, life is a food processing system. The stronger consumes the weaker. That is the rule of nature, which we can not do anything about. It is ok to eat meet to survive but to eat meet for pleasure and killing animals for cultural reasons is too bad. Now I remember my dad when he was beheading chickens, goats, sheep and cows. I feel sick and disgusted. At that time I couldn't wait to get some cooked meat and eat it. Now I don't eat meat unless necessary. When I go out on a heavy work I eat a beefburger. But I eat fish at least once or twice a week. The last time I ate fish was a mackerel. it was peri peri marinated. It was a bit hot but really nice.

I am trying to cut back on my food intake

Cup of soup for breakfast

Assorted vegetables covered in gravy for lunch

Cup of Earl Grey

Probably a tuna salad for dinner

No chocolate O:-)

I have eaten no meat since November 15th and I am craving thinking about a big juicy steak or a roasted chicken

Today, fish and oil (and WINE) are allowed. For lunch, I will eat a tartine of sardine and tomate (Bruschetta con sardine).

At dinner, salade tiède de saumon fumé et pommes de terre (smoked salmon and potatoes)

And a Bourgueil rouge :
