A great and famous artist asked me, and I don't want to mention his name, and he said to me: "Oh brother Nowruz, Which is more important the melody or the poetry?
And why are some of my songs not going viral despite all efforts?"
I answered melody precedes poetry. Man remembers the melody before words, dances and interacts with it even if he does not hear a word.
Words pass through the ear and then the linguistic mind, but the melody addresses the emotional, rhythmic and imaginative aspects of the brain, which is why it goes directly to the existence. When melody meets the human voice and poetry, the effect is double.
Melody is quickly preserved because it depends on the sense. The mind responds with music instantly, so many people remember a whole song's melody while forgetting half of the words.
Poetry needs a linguistic focus. The word depends on awareness, processing and verbal memory, while the melody flows inward more easily.
A melody is often the bridge that gives poetry to people. How many poems the audience didn't know until after they were composed, most of the time the melody opens the door for words to be heard and loved, yet the poetry remains the heart.
Melody attracts the listener, but poetry gives it meaning and makes him come back to listen again and again. Thus it can be said that the melody helps spread, while poetry gives value, and true success is born only from the harmony of the two.
As for the harder question: why do some of your songs not succeed despite the tremendous support you get from parties, television and social media?
There is no one answer, this happens even with top artists, but there are factors that make the song not reach the audience as it should
The success of the song does not depend on the voice alone, but on the cohesion of the whole artistic idea.
Sometimes the melody is beautiful but not near the ear or not easy to memorize.
Sometimes words are written professionally but do not touch people's experience or feelings, so stay away from their conscience. And often distribution is the real problem,
It may not fit the character of the song or may not align with the taste of the era. It may happen that the work comes out at the wrong time, gets lost in the crowded releases, or doesn't find the space it deserves.
The audience's taste is volatile and unpredictable cannot be ignored. A very simple song may succeed surprisingly, while a song the artist worked on goes a long time without achieving the expected resonance,
Also the singer looks like
And the singer's voice
His voice space and his voice warmth
And Omar the singer
And Dean the singer
And the ideas and ideologies the singer believes in
The country and the city in which the singer lives, all these things may be the reason for the failure of the song or the artist
And so the secret is always in balance, and that sense meets idea, melody meets word, and timing meets honest action.
