Kurdish dance is the best! I love it! Every city has it's own dance..the people from Sne are the best in Kurdish dance.

I know these kind off Kurdish dances:

Mariwani
Sney(2 step for, 3 step back)
Bokani
Shexani

Welcome to the forum, Bokanî...

In my oppinion, both Soranî and Kurmanci dances are cool - they are somewhat different in style... The Kurmancî base their dances on the Two step - and the Soranî on that simple thingy - the one where they go from one step to another... Don't know the name of it...

And it must be said - the Zaza dances are very cool... Some are very complicated! :D

Kak Mosul, I think he was saying it in Soranî... but anyways, not all Kurmancî/Badînî speakers speak alike. I know Kurds from Çolemerg who say it with a W like how kak Dîrî said it, and not with a V. I'm pretty sure Kurds from Urmîye like kak Dîrî do too. Every city slightly differs in their dialect!

You are right, kak Heval. In Colemêrg, lower half of Wan (Oh MY did I realy write that with a "w"??? :P ) and all the way to Ûrmiye - and as far south as Shino - Kurmancî Kurds say "Ser chawên min" with a "w"...

Kak Mosul, I am not Badînî, but you are Kurmancî - as am I... I am Dimilî, but you are not... See what I mean? Badînî is only a reference to those who are from Badînan, Shikakî is what the majority of the Kurmancî Kurds in Iran speak... And of course the large federation of tribes known as Jelalî - have their own sub-dialect... Jelalî - simply... The thing about the Kurmancî in East and North Kurdistan, is that we live on both sides of the borders - our lands were split... There are Dimilî Kurmcs and Jelalî Kurmancs on both sides of the border... Just as there are Shikakî Kurmancs on both sides... And when I say "are on both sides" - I mean they have been living and owning those lands for ages... Since before the forming of the modern borders at the very least...

That is why it is kind of wrong speaking of East, West, North and South Kurdistan... Which is lame... But anyway - in the same way - there are Kurdish provincial names for areas which today are split by modern borders - Serhed is one - that is the name of the larger area I am from...

(This is fun :D )

1) Sêro
2) Colemêrg
3) Serhed
4) Northern Kurdistan (in accordance to internal sub-divisions of Kurdistan)=
Image
(The pink spot on the left hand of Ûrmiye, is Sêro)
5) And last but the most - I am from Kurdistan...

According to that map - kak Mosul, you are from Western Kurdistan... :P

And you are from Eastern Kurdistan kak Heval, right? I don't know the exact borders for Hewreman... But you said you had origins from Sine too? :)

Haha, nice post Kak Dîrî. Yes, from the Hewraman region which is encompassed by the greater Gûran region (stretching from as far North as Merîwan to as far south as Xaneqîn) of Southern Kurdistan, according to your map. This is the region of Gûranî Kurds west of the predominantly Kurmancî region (today referred to as Soranî), which Sine (Sanandaj) lies within (the Sine native province of Ardalan, today referred to as "Kordestan" ).
