Am I Worrying For Nothing?

PostAuthor: Fortuna » Sun Apr 23, 2006 8:16 pm

A friend of mine is going back to Iraq next week for a holiday. He is travelling from London to Terhan and then has to cross the border into Iraq. He says he will be perfectly safe and that once he leaves the airport he will have to travel 24 hours by car or bus to reach home  From what i see on TV there is some unrest in Iraq, even a civil war, but yes i know we shouldnt beleive all we see or hear, but i am really worried about him, do i have any need to worry? or am i just being silly

look there is not one Iraq... there are three Iraqs.
Kurdistan , Sunni , Shia.
Kurdistan part is very Secure and Safe and so much more modern and so mcuh Cooler[i mean not Hot Weather] than other parts..

if your friend is going to Kurdistan , dont worry . if he is going to Shia or Sunni. you should worry.
from Tehran to Iraqi Kurdistan border is like 10 hours way by car.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then YOU WIN !

It's safe. The only bad thing would be to be caught between PKK forces in Iran and the iranian army...

tom you are not funny at all.
1-why iranian army, must capture an Iraqi-Birtish person ?
2-there is no PKK in Iran .
you are not funny by swearing at PKK at every possible post.

Mais non

I just said the border crossing can be tricky. Last week iranian army purchased some PJAK troops over iraqi border, and bombed their positions. That's all I'm saying.

Guys please dont argue, i just wanted to know he will be safe, and again he has assured me there is nothing for me to worry about.

I dont know what PJAK troops are, so i cant comment on them, all i know is that he has to cross the border from Iran into Iraq, and he says as he has an Iraq passport he will be fine . He has assured me he will contact me once he reaches home, to put my mind at rest, so i have to just sit and wait and pray he arrives home safely.
